there wasn't one already Peter, because people knew it would decimate an excellent existing forum, where we can already show off pictures, sell your parts or cars, chat to other members, organise events or cruises etc. Oh, wait... my post is 3 years too late to save soarercentral.

Much prefer the forum over the FB pages even if it has slowed down here. It may be quiet now days but at least it still has a good few respectful & genuine Soarer enthusiasts still around which really distinguishes this place from some of the FB groups. Especially considering majority of the people on there are all Baldwin supporters - which speaks for itself really.
I've noticed also a lot of new comers jumping straight to FB & spamming the place with age old questions which couldn't already be easily found on here within a matter of seconds. FB does have it's advantages of quick responses & views which I can understand, but it's certainly not hard to do some research, 9 times out of 10 SC forum is the first result on Google. Not sure if it's laziness or if people are genuinely oblivious.
Their loss at the end of the day, when we have this wealth of knowledge right here just a search away & the ease of use of a forum.

The FB Soarer related pages only real positives are instant replies to posts ... For sale ads etc etc...Even though a majority of us members on here are also on Facebook... I don't think it takes anything away from this great forum. I still browse on here at least twice a week to read updated threads like this one and if I have any issues with my soarer this is the first place I come to.. To diagnose and research and rectify a problem as its all been covered on here.

There is so much more going on facebook on lots of pages both locally and overseas. Its easy to have better relationships with likeminded people. You can post up what your doing here and no one will respond so it turns you away from this page a bit, but i like others still check out this site daily.

aS mIKE said "FB Soarer related pages only real positives are instant replies to posts" but Fb is really a time wasting snooping infiltrating sabotage of human rights, they gather and snoope all about the members, direct marketing at them etc. Its good for people that have nothing better to do in there lives, they can live and breath fb as lots of them do.

Being on facebook means you have to live with a compromise to your privacy. If you can accept this then you won't have a problem. There are many people who are oblivious to the fact that they make their life public.

Well if you don't like it then don't go on there its pretty simple fella's. No point bitching and bagging it as people will do what they want regardless of how much people crap on about it.

If everybody goes on Facebook pages to talk about cars it kills the proper car culture. Forums is where proper knowledge is shared and people can actually make extensive posts and those posts can easily be indexed and searched.
