Hi there guys, New to this forum and such so thanks for the approval.
Just wondering if someone can get me some advice.
I recently picked up a 1994 TT soarer for a slab of beer, however it needs quite a bit of work done to it (new motor and turbos, gearbox and a paint job).
My plan is to do it up for a weekend/travel car
I'm thinking i might chuck back in a 1jz-gte though i have no idea on where to start to source one of these, or a gearbox at a reasonable price with reasonable kms on it.
any help on this would be much appreciated.
Currently it already has a vertex bodykit on it, though as i said it needs a paint job (possible new bonnet).

Welcome Tim! You can pick up 1J's here on the forum in the for sale section for reasonable prices, as well as gearboxes.
Post an ad up in the Wanted too buy section.
Ebay would be a good place too look also.
1J's depending on kms and condition are pretty cheap, usually around the 1-1.5k mark.
Second hand set of twin turbos can be had for around $300. but i'd suggest getting your old ones rebuilt as 18year old turbos are a bit of a ticking time bomb.
Auto gearboxes, can be had really cheap too, around $200-400

Regarding the turbos i was thinking of getting some steel wheeled ones anyway as im pretty sure the reason behind the engine not working was due to a turbo blowing and also the bottom end.
The car came with a blitz front mount intercooler and a 3" blitz exhaust as well.
I think i might save up some pennies first before posting an ad as don't really want to waste peoples time and efforts
