Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a project on my car and came across a few thingies here and there and wanted to know what they were. Any help would be appreciated :-)

First, when I was replacing the exhaust, I had to pull out of it the things you can see dangling in the following photo.

Are they pressure or flow readers of some sort? Here's a closer pic...

Second, also coming out of the exhaust or muffler (can't remember) is in this photo...

Would these throw dash errors if not plugged back in to the new system? I have a 97 UZZ31.
If they do throw an error, would it be easier to plug them back in or is there a way around it?

On a different note, I'm installing a different intake, which'll go straight to engine. Is there a way I can fix the AFM errors i'll be getting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

By the way, this site really need a "maximum threads on one page" system. It just took like 3 minutes to load all the threads on the General Chat page before I could click "Start new thread" :S

First an second picture are O2 sensors and third pic is temp. sensor.

02 sensors need to be in exhaust and connected to ECU.
Temp sensors for cataylic converters not so important but could be or should be connected.

First Picture are Oxygen Sensors, they sense Air/Fuel Mixture to help ECU make fuel adjustments to maintain good economy. Without them the car will use more fuel

Second are Exhaust Temperature Sensors, they trigger a light on the dash when reading is abnormal.

Sweet. Thanks guys. I'll see if I can't get them back in to the new system.

One more question guys, I know that people with a piggyback ECU like the E-Manage have been able to silence some dash errors, so my question is can it silence ANY error you want or only a certain few?

For the record, I turned the car on with both of these unplugged and I got no error on the dash. Even after pressing "Scroll" to make sure it checked all of it again...guess it just uses the data readings internally for when the engine is running...
