new owner of a uzz32 limited.

bought car off a young bloke who never drove it car sat in carport last two years. he took the height arm things off witch i put back on. an found the rest of exhaust cut off so its all back to stock now.
i been reading up for last 3 weeks on what does what etc.
ive reset ecu. batt was not conected when got it and aparently thats equvilent.
so car seem ok at first. abs warning on start up an suspension dip stick was dry. ive refilled an bled as described an it does the dance. left side of car both f and r drop slightly once cars off for 1 hr . speed bumps an slow turns like servo stop driveway etc cause rear driver bounce also i notice it at 60 kph slightly.
now its started being weired as of yesterday. at cruise speed dont feel or sound as it did tried changing gear on its own the speedo is out i stop an its still at 6 then 543210 so delayed by few seconds pretty sure 60kph isnt 60kph nomore or any speed for that matter. the trc seems always on cos i push button an havnt heard a single screech since ive had it. an yep of course ive tried to .
i replaced my emv backlight with leds thinking globe was stuffed but after all that it comes on for a sec then blank. after 45 min drive it came on after restart but next day same happen. got the bird flyin up an down my steering shaft so ill do the regas which may shut that abs ding every time i break. i checked levels senser etc on booster. also doors lock once start car hop out shut door an yep keys in cars runnin door bloody locked. need new drivers rear window but the twit broke that allready. so thats what is up with my new uzz32 limited v8.
if some one can help id be gratefull. i have spent hours an hours researching an theres many threads on everything but surely its all linked cos it all happen in the same half hour drive.
YES ive done lots of searching and reading as im near blind from it all. think ecu capasitors may be the problem but nobody has a how to for that which specificly points out that fix in detail ive read the ones which mention it.
i want to fix everything myself not send it away.
theres no fun in that.

Welcome Jacob
I would suggest a look at Peter Scotts website.
planetsoarer.com
Plenty of info over there if you cant find what you need here.
Pics of car would be great as well. We all like to see what a Soarer looks like

Jacob, here is a pic of a uzz31 ecu with cap locations and sizes of caps, you would have to check whether a '31 and '32 ecu are the same. never seen a tute to replace the caps, not a difficult job, but painstaking.if you don't think you are up to it there are several people on this site who will do the job for you

Jacob,

Speedo problem is from the speed sensor in the gearbox, bounce problem is from no/low nitrogen in the suspension strut accumulators.

With the suspension dropping after shutdown, you can check if it is the struts leaking by screwing the allen key screws in the top of the struts( under the rubber covers) in a clockwise direction(right hand thread) to close off the fluid supply from the control valve. With the engine stopped if car still drops it will be from leaking seals within the top section of the struts.

Hope you only added Toyota hydraulic fluid to the suspension
reservoir - no other type of fluid should be added!!

Hope this helps.

jacob, when you replaced the EMV backlight with LED's, did you build the matrix yourself, or buy one? Was the light "even "across the screen and how did it compare to the original?

thanks for that info. yes i only used toyota fluid.
noticed one of height sensor rods were hanging from bottom . put back on properly. thought sweet easy fix.. still bouncing.
found its leaking from big hose going from that big (pump?) cylinder with hoses near fluid resevour
something else im conserned about is the height switch near selector inside car is missing the top of switch. can move the little white slider inside still but there is two tiny globes. some times if i flick it right that globe goes off back left both come on. if i prod it with my finger one goes out. could this possibly be telling cpu to raise and lower at the same time causing problems?
ive reset ecu and dome so speedo seems normal now. but traction control stayed off till i restarted after the servoan trc wont go off.? switch? or ive put a multi display from a diffrent car which was only a six not a limited. would this be why things arnt workin. ? ill replace my bottom globe etc soon an put mine back in enyhow.
as for the emv yeah mate i jumped on google first day i got the car researched all night... was sure it was the globe. pulled it out an appart removed that globe an its power supply thing.got a strip of led which u can cut down. i cut it into 5 pieces then one of them into half again four rows horizontally the smaller halfes virtically on both ends ran a pos an neg for each strip.(6in total) to a single power supply.
works excelent. (when the screens not blank) turns out after big more thorough research its probly those caps. screen comes on normaly after 30 mins if u restart but its happen only 3 timez so far when its on it looks bloody awsome u cant dim it. and at night with the white blank screen its like staring into a dolphin torch while driving an u can see slight directional spots. but when its working it looks propper only ever came on at night so far so yet to see what it will look in sunlight.i took a few pics as i went so i might do a DIY for people who are curious. will be doing the caps soon too

hi jacob, I had looked at the Led strips available as a possible solution in the future, but was not sure if the LED's were mounted close enough to give an even light. The viewing angle of 120' made me think they may be ok with a diffuser of some sort.
how were they heat wise?

the leds put out no heat so that wouldnt be an issue. as far as a defuser goes sanding the top of the leds to a flat edge rather than the dome they have will defuse the light. also the housing from original light can be modified with holes for each led on the strip and place from behind then the leds poke through tiny holes

the LEDs i looked at would have required a lot more strips than you used. (from memeory about 10) They had a LED about every 1.5cm and the strips were 0.8cm wide.I think they were smd 5050.

what leds did you use?
