Isn't that little fan needed for the AC?
I'm trying to find out. My temps are a touch too warm sitting in traffic so I installed the tiny fan today but I am yet to see it actually come on. Does anyone know the conditions that the tiny fan switches on?
Today wasn't that hot and I only saw 90deg on my engine temp sensor. Yesterday I saw 109deg and the engine temp gauge moved one bar to the right of centre for about a minute.

From what I understand thats the Auxiliary fan? It kicks in at a certain temp and when the temps go down it turns off (based on temp of coolant in radiator)

All I know is after removing my viscous fan (couldn't get a replacement after it broke) and replacing with an electric fan + thermostat relay, I had to add a further relay to switch the fan on when the AC clutch is engaged, otherwise the AC doesn't get very cold when sitting in traffic & the engine isn't hot enough to activate the temperature relay. Of course it's quite a different set up in the JZZ30.

Monday was warmer, it comes on when my sensor reads in the mid 90's somewhere. Sitting in traffic still saw 104.
It might be ok remove the tiny fan if you're running the stock SMIC. In my case (entry level Greddy FMIC) it stays, but I might look at rewiring it to come on at a lower temp.
