yrs ago "smithie" in the UK worked on designing a led backlight solution to replace the flouro tube in the EMV. After a lot of work he came up with a working solution that gave an even light display with LED backlighting.

In recent yrs, edge lighting for LCD displays has become common. Has anyone tried to build an edge lit back light solution for the EMV.

I don't need one, just thinking that it would be a good solution.

I have made quite a few of these for backlight colour film displays, also there are so many smd led panels, and COB LED panels which will suit the replacement fine, you just have to add dimming function.

i have never adjusted the brightness on my emv, so i would think just get the brightness right and not worry about dimming.
