Hey guys, my daily driver auto tt has a nitrogen accmulator and the pump is cycling too many times, about once every 30 seconds or so. I assume this will only get worse over time as more nitrogen leaks out past the seals. I know Peter Taplin/Steve Latmimer used to regas them and also refurb them. Given Peter is very hard to track down these days, if not impossible to, what's my best option? Even if I have to buy a new one, provided it's not stupidly expensive these days I'll do it. If so, where do I purchase one from? I'm located in Melbourne by the way, if that helps and anyone knows someone who can regas them.

| Picture for reference guys. Has some writing on the top. If only it had a valve on it to be regassed

I refurbish them, but can't gas them and send them via airmail so just been doing it locally. Probably ok to get a new one, but from memory someone got one and it wasn't that good having been sitting on the shelf for 20 years.

Thanks for the quick response Mike. I've shot Peter Taplin and Steve Latimer emails/PM's. I prefer to use the forum for information like this as opposed to Facebook. Sounds like new might be the go, provided it doesn't cripple me financially. I'd also be upset if it were bad, having sat on the shelf for so long. I don't know the part number but I assume places like Castle Hill and Amayama would be able to source one?

Good to hear Dave, and $400 isn't unreasonable either. Who did you source yours through?

G'day Dave, Do you know anyone in Perth who could rebuild one of these master cylinders if it was leaking along the 'pushrod'? Thanks, Mitch.

Mitch , sorry no , bit of a job to remove but once out should be relatively easy to replace cylinder rubbers .

Good to hear Roland, I should have years of trouble free motoring with the rebuilt one now. Have to say after one day of driving, very happy so far. To those people who might need one, this is a worthwhile thing to do while Peter is still refurbishing them.

Quite fun to rebuild these, done a bunch for NZ customers of mine. Two internal seals, housing seal, and thread seal. Key is using the right type of rubber for the job. Old gas screw hole drilled to a bigger size, thread tapped and a special high pressure valve fitted, then gassed up accordingly. I've been doing them for around the $250 mark. Too dangerous to ship pre-gassed internationally however, given the high pressure stored inside.

Mitch, I've sent you a PM. Good to hear you're offering that service for your NZ friends Mike. It's good to offer people a choice of rebuilt or new. I wouldn't know where to start if I had to try rebuild one. Who knows Peter, maybe because it's Toyota they can get parts in that we can't. They might have some sort of special import permit, or they get shipped here?

Thanks James. Forgive me a stupid question, but I can't seem to find out where I can access my PM's. Where have I gone wrong please? Thanks.

One plays their part. I'm able to do more and more Toyota/Lexus/BMW specific services as I slowly expand my operation. Looking to acquire a new premise soon so that will be quite a revelation |
