Hey all, been on the PIARC website but cant find their regulations as to car preparation.
All I have been able to find is along the lines of " bolted to metal in reach of the driver"
can anyone elaborate more on this or show me other possible locations. other than on the back seat upright.
I have seen the pages on here and planet soarer but both are in the same location

Another thing, it refers to a 3 point harness, is this just a regular seatbelt?

You need to be able to get and activate it while strapped into the drivers seat.

I have mine lying down just under the front of the back seat.

Others have bolted it to the front of the front seat rails or even onto the side of the tunnel.

3 point harness is a regular seat belt.

D'oh, just realised that is the position you meant by "back seat upright".

haha, cheers Pete.
If i bolt it to the trans tunnel, up under the glove box (at passengers right foot) is there any risk of drilling through into anything?

Its just that i always have crap down at teh back seat, and passngers that hop in there have limited foot room as it is. front seats are always clear however.

Just make sure you can reach it and unclip it while strapped in with the seatbelt tight before you drill anything. The assumption is that in a prang your seatbelts might jam while a fire starts creating the opportunity for you to really be toast!
