Then it may not have anything to do with your handbrake. As I've mentioned in another thread, the way to tell if it is the handbrake, is, when the alarm comes up, is to then pull up the handbrake and if you get another alarm then it isn't your handbrake but something else. What that something else is, needs further investigation.

If it's the brake fluid sensor then surely disconnecting would make it go away. Also the alarm for that is quite specific. These sensors are causing a few problems with members for no apparent reason. I presume they work on conductivity and as brake fluid is hydrophilic then it may be a pointer to have the fluid replaced. I've noticed on mine that the centre of the probe, that the float goes up and down on, gets full of fluid and I'm wondering if that is causing a problem. Any thoughts on that? I've emptied mine out but not sure if it's made a difference.

Unplugged mine years ago. Annoying thing that would decide to bring up the alarm for a while and then stop again. Overfilling worked for a while then it came back.
