Having one Aurion thread for people who like the car and another
(
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/3442/44509.html?1139449506)
for people who do not, is a thoroughly good idea, promoting harmony and contentment for all

Greg,
It's very hard to find something that's "Different", but still what I would call, "Mainstream". As in: Something that will stand out in a crowd, BUT will still look "Individual"............Good luck!

Aurion engine - 2GR-FE

Optional supercharger giving unknown increase in power at this point.

Looks like a over-body-kitted Camry to me - but should appeal to the Falcon XR/Commodore SS etc crowd - but why FWD?

Probably safety reasons like almost every other car released these days. In the hands of inexperienced drivers, FWD is the easiest to control.

FWD is more cost effective to produce,,As in most cases they try to use the same floor pan setup on many models :-)
Eg...Camry / ES 300 etc..

That makes sense - I guess if you can drop the whole drivetrain and engine into the front of the car at once, it has to save money on having to put the engine, transmission, drive shaft and diff in seperately.

You are quite right. I drove a Company Camry in the early 90s and I can tell you for sure that the stalk for the cruise control is exactly the same. I think the only things they changed were the engine, gearbox, differential, which end is driven, steering, suspension, all body panels, lights, stereo, interior upholstery and fittings and maybe all the glass. And the badges, probably to try to fool us...
