I have one of those desk calendars where you tear a page off and throw it away... all about (American) cars!

This morning, I pulled off yesterday's sheet to reveal todays.. 2005 Lexus LF-A Concept

Its a Lexus, yes, and its not even a Soarer.. however in my opinion it invisages everything the Soarer (not that crappy sc430 =\ ) is about... Looks great, long, sleek design, quite a thump of power under the bonnet and so on.

Officials say to expect over 500hp under the bonnet and a top speed of a little over 200mph from an n/a engine less than 5.0L. Ambitious... supercar ambitious!

Lexus and Toyota representatives have touted it as only an indication on where Lexus is heading with things so its likely that it wont hit the stores.
Whatever offspring it provides though, im glad to see Lexus/Toyota have their heads in the right place!

Fingers crossed a twin pops out of a production plant!

EDIT:
Good read here as well...

I dunno why but it slightly resembles the 350Z... must be the arc of the roof me thinks

Dun like the front though, too steep angle on the front of the bonnet, otherwise car looks good

Lexus Officials on the stand whom I know personally confirmed that Lexus will build this car within three years.

i JUST remembered then, Robert - I was at the perth motor show last year, checking out the lexus stand, particualrly the sc430, and one of the representatives came up and asked me if i would like to sit in it...we started chatting, came out that i had a soarer...and next thing she's asking me if i know about the forums, cos she knows you really well, and her husband used to work with you or something!

lovely lady, she gave me a really good look at the sc430. totally forgotten about that til you mentioned knowing the officials...

my old mans got one, as far as i can see there arent any problems, and its still looks good, although still prefer the sc-400 look.

This car (LF-C) looks so much better than the one shown in Detroit (LF-A). Now I must say it looks very lovely...

So we'd have a chance in 10 years when the price has come down so far that you only need to mortgage your house, mother, kids and dog to buy it.

Maybe I'll have to move back to the UK again and become member of P1 although that's quite expensive too.

Robert Hayden wrote on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 - 11:11 pm:

Yeah Shane, that's my mate Monique. Husband Mark is top salesperson for Lexus Australia 2nd year running.

Very knowledgable woman that one, gorgeous too.

yeah, thats her. i was being very careful about how i mentioned her, cos i didnt know how well you knew her etc....but now that you mention it, she is a stunning lady. you're dead on the money with "knowledgable", too...most of the other sales girls at the other stalls were there purely for aesthetic purposes, whereas she was full bottle on the sc430, and a few of the other models, knew all the specs, blew my gf away with how much she knew

i like the sounds of the direction lexus is wanting to take...it can only mean positives for all of their models...lets just hope they forget to go to "world supercar" extreme on one thing - the price!

PS whenever i see that first interior pic of the LF-A i posted, it just screams "soarer" to me - you can clearly see its origins.

LFA looks very "Toyota" to me - more like a Celica on steriods than any Lexus. LFC definitely says Lexus in my mind.

I love the rear end of the LF-A. What are those fan-looking-like things under the taillights? Afterburners I hope

Hmm, to me, LF-C looks a bit "everything else", but the LF-A stands out nicely.

hehehe - most likely just radiators. bit like the veyron, with 7 different radiators (or was it intercoolers) spread throughout the car.

I read in some mag that Toyota was going to use the LFA design for its next V10 powered supercar.

Oh, love the map of Mt Fuji circuit on its display!
