Can anyone tell me if the UZZ31s that came with the EMV came with an amp?

Also if the EMV is removed, will the standard stereo with the tape deck on the top and no single CD slot just plug in? (Has the stacker in the back)

The car I just bought originally came with the EMV but the previous owner replaced it with the original none EMV unit. It all works, but there seems to be no base at all. There is a factory sub woofer on the back shelf.

There were 2 amps one under the cd stacker and a separate one under the parcel shelf for the amp.

So it should work if it all plugs in ok and the bass/amp is still connected.
Hopefully someone will be able to add to that.

YES. Amps are all the same when separate. In 1994 sub amp was moved in with the main amp so these amps are different.

No. Wiring harness is different. Stacker is different.

Non-EMV head units come in two different versions of each model for with and without Sub. The version with built in amps and no CD has no Sub either (piece of crap; all the others are OK and can have a sub added if they don't have the output for one).

You will have to refit the whole EMV system or get the harness from a non-EMV car (whole rear harness to be gutted for just the stereo bits and the harness behind the stereo/EMV). Plus if you go for non-EMV standard system your stacker will need to be converted or swapped for a non-EMV one.

Okay, I have taken a look and there is an amp under the stacker and another small metal box with some small short fins on it under the parcel shelf. I take it that is another amp as well? The sub is definitely there and I am sure it is factory fitted.

Just so that I understand this right, the car came with an EMV, so it is likely that it had the stacker and the amps when it left the factory. Is this a safe assumption?

The non EMV unit, with the tape on top and no CD is not a straight swap, is that correct?

Is it likely that the fitter just by passed the amps altogether when he fitted it?

I have all controls, but it's just that there is no base! When I turn the knob, there is a difference, but only just.
