In the next few months I will be looking at a couple of TT Soarers. Now my old man and I have some automotive knowledge, but not very extensive. We both understand that this is a problem when inspecting a car such as a soarer.
However, I was wondering if you guys know of any places that I could take a car to, to get a detailed look over, not an ordinary mechanic, someone who specialises in TT soarers, some who knows common/major problems with these cars, or maybe a knowledgeable owner themselves. I live in Melbourne.

Hey Dilan.
There are quite a few guru's in Vic that know their way around a Soarer backwards, and blindfolded, with no hands, and whilst drunk! ;D
Without intentionally committing him to it, Neil should be able to help you out.
There are tonnes of threads where people have asked similar questions around as well. Do a search and see what turns up.
I would recommend spending some time to try and find a Soarer know-it-all like you have intended. There isnt too much mechanically that is weird and different, however there are quite a few electronics and bits and pieces that can be common faults. A search should help reveal up a good healthy list of these =P
Thanks for the advice guys, it is really appreciated. I wouldn't want Neil to go out of his way to help me, and I don't want to cause any one an inconvenience. But yeah, I'll see what happens when I find what I think is the right car.
Does anyone have a link to a checklist, so I can do some of the minor checks my self?
