| How much to comply? If it was in NZ I'd be putting in the "probable basket case" category based on age and price, but still worth checking out. With the body kit perhaps it has been in an accident? |

| "Body kit" apparently includes a full 97+ nose and rear lights? |

| I received that email, too, and yes, it looks like a 1997 upgrade, not a bodykit. Seems like a good buy, even if getting long in the tooth. |

| Damn that's cheap! I wonder what else is wrong with it though, apart from the panel damage, since it's only 5.5K

I think Prestige usually includes the price of compliance in the total price of the car... |

| "This is a landed cost only and doesn't include compliance." Not studied it but I would expect around $5k. Others will know. |

| Given it's a 15 year old car, does it actually have to go through the full compliance process or is it the same as compliancing say a 1990 Celsior which would only be about $1000-$1500? |

| That's an Autocouture front bar - goes lower than the stock 97 bar. It'd be worth getting just for that! |

| Too many kms and don't like the colour. Interior looks used up as well. Wouldn't it be better to spend 10-12k on a better one which has been complied and has less kms? |

| yea saw it also. would be a good buy for someone who was willing / happy to wreck it. But probably also a good deal for someone who was willing to comply it. but would have to return it back to standard (wheels, exhaust etc) may get away with the updated kit. compliance for these puppies is only about 3-4k i think? |

| I don't think you'd be able to wreck it unless it fails compliance, and it seems pointless spending $4K on compliance (if it'd still cost that) to then just wreck it, because then you need to recover around $10K just to break even. |

| I'm with Ollie on this one. To make it a financially viable proposition for wrecking, you'd wanna get it a hell of a lot cheaper than $5.5k. After the body kit's gone and the EMV (if it's not stuffed), there ain't a lot left that is high demand /profitable bits to make any moolah out of. Most wreckers over here will pay about $2k MAX for a Soarer for wrecking, even a mobile one. The problem (over here anyways) is that the parts are VERY slow moving once the good bits (as above) are gone. This is, of course, looking at it from a business point of view, rather than an enthusiast/owner point of view.
