Hi I am new here, I am on a few other Toyota and Soarer lists but not real active as I have a music career that comes only just first and takes up much of my e-mailing time. I did a run from Sydney to Byron Bay on the weekend and after owning my V8 Soarer almost exactly a year, I finally hit the 180kmh limiter. I was told by the previous owner that he had the cruise limiter removed. I thought that meant the speed limiter I had heard about. Imagine my surprise while kicking a V8 Falcons arse I hit 180kmh and the engine briefly dies. How embarrassing. Luckily my tyres and suspension were far superior and he was backing off already. phew!

Given that my car now thinks it is permanently in Park, I wonder what confusions the ECU now suffers? However, the speedo works so I guess the cut will still be there as well. At least with the error we have introduced I would be doing over 190 when it still thinks it is reaching for 180. Either that or it will cut out at an indicated 167.
I've only hit my 180 limiter once (private road of course! ). That's enough for me. Unless I get over to Philip Island or out to Mallala at some point.
