All that maintenance and running costs would cost you roughly the same on any other car. Even a falcon or a commodore that costs the same (ie a 5 yr old one) will still break and need fixing, where you pay similar amount of $$$. At least take comfort in the fact that once you fix something in the Soarer, it will work for another decade no worries, I wouldn't be complaining about that.
So total spent on car since I bought it comes to 21,805$ I've only done the majority of that in the last 6 months and plenty more to go with the 1.5J build starting this year. I'm going to be poor for the rest of my life. And I'm only 20.

Brockas, what about your daily driver? HMM?!
I dont want to constantly be shelling out for repairing my car as a result of doing 150kms every day (which is what im averaging at the moment). Since i started driving it around the city for my job i have noticed a lot of new vibrations and cracks developing in the interior also; i want to minimise that.
..i have never changed, i have always wanted my car to be in tip top condition. By buying a 'rolla i can achieve this. Works out cheaper in the long run as well =)
You just gotta reinforce your door trims callum, and that will stop cracking for good. I noticed that if some places on the door trims crack, they tend to vibrate, like around the armrest for example. You might probably wanna also tighten up some screws around your dash and it should stop. It's not a commodore you know, it's all bolted down and not glued.
I was actually wondering if we could get a group buy for a plastic welder or something to get the door trims reinforced properly?

Not a bad idea Dan. The wood trim on the passenger door in my car makes this annoying noise, but only sometimes. Don't ask how and why, i have no idea . All my cars seem to have a brain of their own, especially the one i had (still have) before the Soarer. She is french and i guess she doesn't like the climate here or something
Nick, that can be easily fixed mate, in 5 mins or so. You'd have to take off the door trim, and tighten up 3 or 4 screws that hold the woodgrain. I've had it also first time I undid it, I didn't tighten it enough, and it rattled like crazy. If you're coming to the cruise this sunday, I can do it for ya really quick hey.
What I was referring to is the broken plastic bits though. My trim is cracked in many places inside, I've used superglue to keep it together, but there's always some crap that lets go. Would be good to get some professional to weld it, and put some reinforcement over the most likely to crack areas. We shoudl discuss this more hey.
