Do you mean the HKS sequential ones? Just block off the stock BOV and get a pod filter. Flutter all day, all night until you get pulled over then bent over by a cop.

Hesham the flutter you want is not good for the stock turbo. The flutter sound is when the turbine is thrown in reverse "not good" so by having a BOV (one that works) prevents this. The only flutter you should hear is at low boost not at high boost release. So what you really want is a blitz or HKS bov they almost sound like that flutter except they are doing there job and releasing the boost.

i'm confused...so how do they sound like the flutter but not throwing the turbine in reverse..how does the sound come about then?

The make of the BOV outlet makes the sound.I have a turbosmart BOV model:Vee Port2 and it sounds like a quiet sneeze but the HKS or Blitz have a different sound because the outlet is different. The sound from the pod filter is the reverse spin.

yeah i know that quiet sneeze sound..but if you say the flutter is not good for the turbos, what would you recommend i get that's not bad for the turbos that still has that high pitch flutter and also give me some performance in the turbos

jeff, also, your soarer a twin turbo...did you gain performance putting on that pod filter? because i put a pod on my cordia and it dragged the turbo hard, like you couldn't feet boost and it lost performance, then i gave my mate the pod and he put it on his skyline r33 gts-t and his did the same, it was a $20 pod filter, u could hear it wen he drove, it sounded insane but he lost ALOT of performance, what pod would you recommend and will it drag the turbos? or give me a boost in performance? at the moment, i have the BFI i think..not sure but it seems different to stock, but the air box with filter has a tunnle comming from it and it goes directly to the air intake on my front bumper...i have the bomex body kit and it only has one of those intake vents on one side..(the side the air box is on), so would it be worth puttin on a pod? or keep it the way it is?

The BOV's don't give you any real performance they just release boost preventing turbo damage. If you like the flutter sound get a HKS bov but get the installation kit for it too.Turbosmart has supersonic and they are really loud but the public and the boys in blue don't like it.If you want attention go loud if you want practical & sound go sneeze but for it to do its job go plumb back. The only two reasons for having a aftermarket BOV is 1:Sound & 2:When you are going big power then the standard Bov can't cope.

i was told the BOV decreases spooling time of the turbos in between changing gears?

The pod I have is the twenty doller one from just jap and it ran harder but the real performance come from the bigger exaust (me 3inch from dump to exaust tips). The bigger exaust made it suck more air, means more power.Your pic didn't show but having the BFI instead of pod is no difference just looks boring so I got the pod instead." because i put a pod on my cordia and it dragged the turbo hard, like you couldn't feet boost and it lost performance"I think your problem was the air flow meter.Your 92 soarer's air flow is controlled by the ECU so the ECU will adjust for the different air flow.

Not by mutch the only way to prevent spool loss is to keep you revs high between changes other than that you can't stop that. You need a BOV for the simple reason it prevents reverse spin. The auto on the other hand dosn't loose spool between gears until you release the throttle.

yeah i made that assumption..but it did exactly the same with my mates skyline r33 gts-t...air flow meter? or just because the pod was crap? what's the difference between a $150 pod and a $20? because that's an extra $130 for what? |
