So what's so good about a MINES ECU? I know they're rare, but are they better than a PowerFC or Microtech? Forgive ignorance!

They are tuned to perfection for the motor they are tuned too, and the fuel they tuned to.

If you still have that motor, and have access to the fuel it was tuned for, then perfect.

If you have a different motor, or use different fuel, then the tune is less than perfect.

They have the uber benefits of raising the rev limiter, which no piggyback can do.

But they are not reprogrammable yourself.

Nothing will beat a stand alone programmable ecu (providing its been wired and tuned correctly, which can be quite costly)

Mine doesn't use any more fuel than normal until I floor it. I reckon I could just about set up an igniter back there and have flames rocketing out the back.
It is good if someone is tailgating though, slow right down then boot it and spray them with fuel muhahaha!

I was wondering why heaps of my mates would always let ME lead first on a drive. "FREE FUEL"

I like this igniter idea. Maybe I should do that before i get it tuned!!

When do you want to do the sub thing, Tim?
We can look at a DFA or something for tuning. If your Mines is anything like MiNe (pun intended ) then it needs it, and it is and it does

A couple of posts sneaked in while I was doing something else, I was referring to Tim's post. He needs the factory sub hooked up to aftermarket stereo. And a DFA or SAFC from the sound of it.

That's exactly what my cousin did in his Sprinter. He run a coil all the way to the exhaust tip, attached a spark plug, and on pressing a switch, engine shuts off momentarily, fuel pump keeps pumping fuel, and the spark plug goes off at the exhaust, looks a bit like a flamethrower, shoots the flame as far as a metre or two hahaha. He'll be coming to the AHG day Luke, you can see it then hell funny when he scares the crap out of pedestrians (ahem, on a private road of course).
