Hi all,
Just wondering Is it possible to fit a 1994+ 3.0GT soarer with a Manual supra five speed Gearbox? Im quite sure its able to be done as the 2jz-ge is a supra motor. So has any one seen this done before.
Theres just something about the inline six that I prefer over an Auto v8 one, especially if it was a manual 2jz-ge... Just love that 6 cylinder sound and the fact these 3 litres are alot newer and a bit more simple in regard to electronic features etc...

Yes - a Manual SC300 , It would sure be Something rather different In my opinion - Nice and original!
Ive always liked the 6-cyl NA 3 litre Japanese cars but none seem to be really decent, theres the 300zx, supra and a few others. However they lack quality and the superior styling like a soarer has so really I think its one of the better ones out there that combine luxury and I6 performance. Let alone a manual one. Mmmm!
So Im pretty much just wondering If any ones actually got one with a manual fitted and If they think its a worth while project

Mike, there is another thread at moment askingabout manual conversions. Check it out. A W58 out of a 1986-93 Supra is not likely to be much help. Wrong bellhousing for a JZ engine. You really need a W58 out of a JZ Powered Supra N/A. Not sure what tailshaft you use of modify. You could also use an JZ/R154. Generally speaking, the project sounds like a nice idea to me if your keen on sticking with an N/A engine. Otherwise, go buy a TT factory manual. A couple for sale on the forum at the moment.

The NA JZA80 came with the W58 and it had the 2JZGE just as the JZZ31. If you found a manual conversion kit for the Supra I'd be very surprised if you needed to do much more than alter the driveshaft and get a manual console insert.

What about a shift kit on the stock auto for a cheeper alternative? I mainly want the changes to be quick, rather than dull and lazy. This would probably cost around $300-500 from what Ive read in the past about shift kits. Any one done this to their automatic?
