I dont think you lot down there know this, But, You have available down there a new place called Drag Tag. You use your OWN car on a Dyno and play a sort of MEGA SIZE Playstation game with it. Like, Drag Racing, Street Racing, Track, Etc, Etc.
I have no idea where it is or its costs.. But 3 cars can be in it at the same time and compete each other.

Meh, costs too much, plus you have to get the "tags" fitted to your suspension somehow?? I dont exactly know how it works. Any how...it cheaper just to go race your mates down the street....

Yes Shane i did see the late model Green SC300 in the background. Did they actually say how much it cost to put your car on. Anyways i thought it was a really good idea mabe for learner drivers it should be madatory to practise on there for 1 hour before hitting the road for the first time.

I went to the complex when I was in Victoria recently. Big building, a lot of technology and thought has gone into it. It does cost a lot to get the car set up initially but that will come down overtime once they build up settings for different cars I would assume. While the racing thing is neat (you can do track work as well, like a dyno with steering!!!!) I dare say most of their revenue would come from driver training. As well as the three side by side dynos with the screens and the grandstand they have another five or six down the back when I was there, a lot simpler, but designed for learners to be able to practice gear shifts on and stuff like that which is an excellent idea. But it is definitely unique and I think the idea of being able to race say Mount Panorama in your own car without having to go anywhere is quite neat.

Shane,,Yes I did mate hahahahah 96 Model up.
Here where the system's cost are justifiable ( Depending on what they are ?? I dont know )
Track day can set you back upto $300.. ( And possable damage to YOUR car..
Drags upto $55..Possable damage to driveline !!
Drag Tag..No Accident..No Damage..Free Dyno Report..heheheh ( Who said ya cant TUNE ya car while on there ?? hahahahaha ) Ya not gunna run into anything.. Most Dyno Shops are $140 hr !!
It can teach you HOW to drive ya car WITHOUT Smashing it..
Remember..about 80% of Young Male Learners THINK they are still driving there Playstaion Game / D1 Drift Game Etc..When they are actually IN a REAL LIFE Car ?? That DOESNT bounce off the walls / other cars / guide rails / buildings Etc..

If we just stopped passing the buck and made licensing tests RELEVANT to actual driving instead of ensuring they can park and stop at a red light, then we wouldnt have so many nuffy's on the road. Christ I didnt even go over 50kmh on my license test. Let alone prove anything regarding safety and awareness.
Still, will make a great venue for dyno shootouts. First car to reach 498hp@wheels.......3....2.....1....GO. (Nissans start pinging, toyotas win YAY!!)

Theres no substitute for the G forces exerted upon ones body when taking a 90 degree corner at 100km/h on the track. Plus the exhileration of downshifting thru the gears under brakes giving you the feeling your being catapulted thru your windscreen.

Agree, I was thinking it might be a bit lame and unrealistic without G-forces. So much of how you drive is related to how you perceive movement though feeling what the car is doing.
While it might allow learners to learn to change gears, it might also give false confidence in the way that video games do. But it is a step closer, at least you are in a real car.

If i were to go (id love too) it wouldnt be to learn anything, it just be for fun. Its like a video game but your using your car, I think thats pretty cool.
