Like it says, is there anyone on here in VIC on their p's who drive a TT?
Have you had any probs with the cops?

I have been good. havent really driven out at night on friday/ sat nights that much so yeh.
Only been pulled over once and i was driving slow, but they did'nt say much and let me go on my way.
insurance was easy through just cars and i have had it through shannons as well. |

as long as you have all your mods listed you should be safe at getting paid out for a claim.
the policeman mentiond that i was driving a powerfull car like 4 times when he pulled me over, but i never admitted it. coz its under the limit! especially because im only running .68bar
you can drive any car in vic on your P plates as long as its under 125kw/tunn
they have just changed the rule for NEW P platers i think from next year wont be able to have Turbo and v8 cars.
if you already have your licence its A OK |

James, TT Soarers aren't under the limit, you cannot legally drive one on your P's. |

Had my soarer for almost a year, no trouble what so ever, haven't been pulled over in it. been through a few booze bus areas etc, most that's happened is hear one of the cops go "He's on his p's" as i was getting bretho'd.
All seems fine to me, a stock soarer i think is Just cutting the line for being illegal, but when i rang vic roads to ask if they are illegal or not, she just told me that now days we have to do our own calculations.
If a cop pulls you over, and starts ranting on that your car is to powerfull, just say you called vic roads, did what they said, weighed you car etc, and according to the calculations you were fine. |

I am not 100% sure when it starts might start in 2007 and there is gonna be green P's and stuff.
I am sure if you do a search on some news website you could find out all the correct information.
but remember this is for New licence holders. doesnt affect people who already have thier licence.. ti think lol |

125kw/tone is correct there also a capacity rule 3lt/tone, rego stickers are quite often incorrect and I doubt they will stand up in court.
Do the maths on any car you want to buy.
A V8 soarer is legal on P's just and a TT is just not legal, going on toyota's kerb weight.
Getting caught for it is a whole other matter.
Just remember that police are cracking down on imports, a couple of years ago you would probably get away with it. Now I wouldn't be so sure. |

I don't have time to read it in detail but it looks to be a 50/50 between forwards and backwards.
It needs a lot more work and some serious changes in some sections but it looks like we are stuck with it now. |

Haha, If I was a new P-Plater I'd just buy a fully ported rotary with all the good bits while keeping it NA.
It'd be an absolute monster of a car and about 99.99% of coppers don't have a clue about rotaries! 
There is no mention of rotaries in the banned vehicle guidelines, watch the rotor sales go up! And VTEC Hondas too ;) |
