Obviously living on Tamborine Mountain I have to get off it from time to time and today was no exception.
What was the exception was being pulled over by a white and blue commodore with flashing lights.
Just back a bit to start the story. I arrived at the beginning of the drop off to find a truck with a crane on the back travelling at around 20k per hour. Not good when there is about 12 k to go before a passing place. So I do the obvious thing and pull back to first (steep hill) and wait my opportunity to overtake albeit over double white lines. These lines were not always there, but someone in their wisdom decided that 500m was not safe to pass going down hill. This could be true of some less adept drivers.
So round I went (rather quickly in first and downhill) and as I checked the rear vision mirror another vehicle did the same.
Unfortunately said white commodore was coming up the hill with a blue clad person at the wheel shaking his finger at me.
My heart immediately began it's daily exercises as I applied the brake and came back to somewhere near 60ks. Phew I thought, that was close.
Oh, no. What's that in the rear view mirror. i couldn't believe this guy was able to turn around, pass a truck and 2 cars and get behind me and the woman in the commodore in such a short time.
So I pull over with the woman, the cop gets out as I do to say "G'Day" but he's not smiling.
Cutting a long story shorter, he lets us off with a warning and an acknowledgement that the passing area which had been taken away should have been left and to be more watchful of police cars when overtaking. Wow, what a guy. He can actually see another point of view.
Not all cops are bad cops.

On the last double demerit weekend I installed the intercooler kit on my car with my mate. Finished it late at night and decided to take it for a spin. I get on a long straight and get lined up by an R32 Skyline filled with Bogans (strange huh?) I was so eager to see what the cooler would do to my car I didn't even look around, the light went green and we both went for it, he got to 70 and then immediately backed off and I wandered why. Next thing I knew a Demon car was right up my ass with its lights flashing. I had nothing to say for myself as I knew i was %100 in the wrong and was prepared to cop my punishment. The cop was on his own and was an older guy and to my luck, he was a Soarer lover. He went over my car, commented about it, checked my license and mods etc and asked why I was 100km's away from home (was staying in Mandurah at my mates) I told him I needed a break and was on holiday. He told me how Mandurah is a quiet place and they want it to stay that way, followed up with "you have a beautiful car and I dont want to put it in the impound where it will more than likely get damaged so please go home, if I see you again tonight tho I will have no choice but to book you"

Couldn't believe it.

Possibly the luckiest moment of my life, well... that and finding a $50 note on the doorstep of centrelink.

Sounds like country police are the easy-going ones.

I've never been pulled over in my Soarer for anything other than being breatho'd, kind of ironic because I racked up 7 demerit points in my '87 Corolla (all speeding) and now I drive a TT! and not one offence! ..touch wood..

But, having said that, my 12 month no stuff up period (I'm on my P's, more than 5 points = probation or hand over license) is almost over, so maybe they will start adding up again. Unless I run into the one in a million cop that loves Soarers!

I havent been pulled over in the Soarer yet but it will happen sooner or later. I just hope they dont drop the book on me and defect me for my seats and steering wheel.

I dont have the doof doof music pumping or the 6 inch cannon or the 35 inch rims so from the outside the car looks like a sleeper but there are a few things that if the cop is a penial will get me for.

But i have only seen good cops so far. But a few mates in VL have different stories. LoL
