Very tempted to go the full custom mdf parcel shelf route as the stock one will simply buckle under the pressure of what I am planning.
What I would like to know is any ideas on what to do with the plastic seatbelt glide thingys for the rear belts. They will be useless on a 16mm thick shelf as they can only clip onto materials 3-4mm thick.
Should I 1; just cut them altogether, 2; rout out part of the mdf thickness to allow them to fit, 3; cut a hole out of the shelf and cover with plate steel as to facilitate them, any other suggestions? Better yet, anyone got a mdf shelf that they could take some decent close up pics of for me?

Be careful when cutting any metal from the factory parcel shelf. there was another soarer owner a few months back who BEFORE he got his soarer complied, Had cut a decent amount of the factory metal parcel shelf to fit a massive sound system......
He couldnt get the car complied as he had altered something to do with the structural rigidity of the vehicle. he sold it for parts. Poor guy. It Pays to check in case you damage any chances of resale in the future.

I'm not going to cut any metal! The parts that I am referring to are those plastic clips that the rear seatbelts are threaded through that sort of glide the belt through the factory shelf.
