Hey guys, just wondering if you guys no anything or had experiences with "Clear" tyres... apparently i can get them for $120 each fitted... and i have been told they have had no complaints.. seeing my soarer chews through the tyres i dont want to buy expensive ones!
I have Kingstars on it at the moment, and in my opinion the are awefull.. extremely noisy.
So yeah.. any feedback would be great! also if you know of any other brands that would meet my needs.
I've got them on mine (very random tyres when I first saw them). So far they're holding up pretty well but they're only temporary until I get my other wheels (the tyres were chucked on to pass rego heh).

Mate uses them on his Supra. No worries at all. $120 is a little bit of a rip, but I guess that is probably retail price.
Personally I use Triangles, China's leading tyre. $90 each new, perfect for motorsport days where you will go through tyres quickly. Oh and they've also netted me a 1.85 60' time... can't be all bad.

I was just about to start a thread about this - Extreme Machines have recommended Federal 595's for my car which are between $220-240 each. Anyone use these or had experiences with these tyres?

Sam, Federals are great in the dry, crap in the wet. Go to planetsoarer.com and have a look at the tyre test there from Wheels Magazine. I've got the Feds on mine and they have been fine.

Isn't it funny the way things happen.. Went out for lunch yesterday and there was a copy of that exact wheels mag so... the tyre test caught my eye and yeah the Federals looked and sounded very promising. Suppurb dry weather handling, average (crap) wet weather and wet braking. but The price they listed was $140 each. who's rippin who..... actually they may have been cheaper... Long day!

Hmmmm, I see you've got 17's, how bout MAXXIS 235/45/17. Great tyre, all conditions, ranked highly among brandname competitors, finished 3rd in Motor Magazines tyre test 2 years ago. Great road tyre IMO. Bob Jane will fit em up for 149 each, which is great value for that size tyre.

I recommended getting the Nankang NS2's in a 235/40/18... they are a great tyre wet or dry, and the grip... just amazing... Mr Diggler will agree with me on this one...
