I should be noted that I (personally) have never damaged my car at PI (or anywhere else). I leave that to good friends. |

I respectfully disagree Lew - we're not racing so there's no need to take risks or go beyond one's abilities. I've done trackdays on bikes for years before hitting the track in my car and I've never had an off. Coming off is just a fcuk up and definitely not something that should be expected. |

what i ment was that getting a wheel off the track
Not the damage side of things.
Boss it still was an off be it soarer or supra

Put up ya paws those who have not damaged a panel on a SOARER at PI in the five years we have been running there?
What about the dude from SA who had a MAJOR in his FSG TT?.............Frank somebody or other.

Don, that was at Mallala in South Australia, it was a Blue TT and it was a General Practice day with too many cars and drivers with all different performance and skill levels.
A right mess however.  |

Fair enough Lew - I didn't meant to sound preachy but I meant come off as in "lost control". Maybe it's because I started on bikes but the way I see it there's no reason to overcook it. |

How many Soarers have NOT had damage at PI?
Pen started this discussion coz he reckons we are nuts to be fanging around Philip Island and buggering our cars up.
So the short and simple answer to Pen's question is 'most'. |

Don't get me wrong, I don't think you are mad at all, it just seems that there are always tales of woe about panels, engines, gearboxes or whatever from those outings.
Despite that all, you guys continue to have fun, so go for it!  |
