Well it sure was an interesting weekend. With sh1tty weather predicted, a few of us were last minute starters. I took the day off on Friday and prepped the car just in case it all come up good. Saturday morning..loking good...off we go. Get down to PI, perfect. Great weather all day, perfect for doing some good times. Juzza did a few laps then TT started to missfire and lose power. He persisted but the problem didn't go away finally retiring towards the end of the day. Still had a lot of fun and realized that driving a TT compared to a UZZ31 is like learning all over again!! Gazza just had a great day. Car is sweet and performing faultlessly. He dragged Ben over from SA with him and most of the day Ben was lost exploring photographic vantage points of the track and having a ball. Damo just tore the place up. Halfway through the day he did consecutive 1.59's busting the two minute barrier on his first ever dry session at Philip Island. You couldn't wipe the smile off his face, or get the phone away from his ear. All his hard work on the multiple throttle bodies and manual gearbox setup came to the fore. Excellent drive bloke! Suze fired up the purple blown active for the first time in the dry. Running big 285/18" semi slicks on the rear and 235/16's on the front (hence the wheel colours in the photos) she warmed the car up nicely and felt her way into it with a couple of laps around the low 2.20's. Then she lined up a few slower cars and did some fancy overtaking, particularly on the exits of Southern Loop and Siberia, two of the toughest corners on the curcuit. Times tumbled into the mid teens as she found some clear track. Then she got into it in earnest and took on a late model 996 Porsche on the exit of turn 12 as she came onto the front straight. Absolutely blitzed him into turn one and she never was bothered by a Porsche again. It was great to see the straight line acceleration of the blown active up against a modern day 'supercar'. That same lap she came within 300 meters of actually lapping an older 911 Porsche that a bloke was peddling around. Setting her sights on another Porsche in a later session, she did a few very quick laps and had a very good dice with a 944 turbo which was doing a good job out there also. That session she pulled down to her best ever time of 2.10.1 and was consistent between 2.10.1 and 2.11.1 for the entire session. A great effort!

We woke at 4.30 Sunday morning to a heavy rainstorm which persisted well into the morning. Arriving at the track at 8, it was heavily overcast with occasional drizzle patches. Not nice. Gazza went out for a run and things started to dry up nicely when the wind came up. Damo wasn't right for the wet circuit so I fired up the active and went out to play. I missed first call and was lined up second so couldn't play with Gazza, but had a good run for the first two laps. By the end of lap one I had cleared all of the stragglers and was out front of the pack, with a nasty little red Honda nipping at my heels. Silly little bugga couldn't quite figure out how I could put multiple car lengths on him at ever corner. Hahahaha. By lap three, car felt down on power and wasn't running right. I couldn't drag off the Honda on the straight and had no pull out of Siberia at the back of the circuit. I came in and she was running really rough, actually even stalled at the park ferme. Damo and I changed out igniters, coil packs, looked at a couple of plugs but could't and didn't get the old girl to run so she was retired to the trailer. Bugga. With an entry fee of $150 for the day, those three laps worked out pretty expensive! The day took a down turn when Gazza overshot on turn 12 at around 180 km/ph and went out through the kitty litter hard, fast and backwards. The tyre wall loomed menacingly in the background and unfortunately he ploughed straight in sideways, rear end first. They dragged him away and recovered the car, and the silly Pommie git was just fine, apart from a serious case of hurt pride. Gazza's beautiful black TT didn't fare so lightly. Tyre walls did a pretty serious remodelling job on the left hand side, so that was us for the weekend. We all packed up , and with tails between our legs we buggered off back to our place to effect some repairs.

So it was time to get out the gear and see what could be done to put his baby back into some sort of condition. Both mirrors had smashed but I had some spares, so we gt into Robs Spare Parts Bin and did a raid.
A few hours later, she was nearly as good as new. At least on the surface anyway.

Ya'll get to see my pics when I get back to Adelaide, I didn't bring the cable that I need to upload the pics with me. All I can say is that I had an absolute blast, and I wasn't even driving, where were the rest of you guys? I started off taking pics, then progressed into a tyre fitter, mechanic and pit crew. The Boss even trusted me working on the fabled blown '32, and to go do some circle work to drop the struts outta diagnostic mode!!! Also got to play with a few Porsche 993's and a Ferrari F355. All in all even after Gazza messed up his ride, Juzza's coils shat themselves and Rob's car died without reason, we had a fair decent time. You all better get your arses into gear for the Feb session, I might even bring my beast over

| I almost got into a bit of nasty situation with 3 holden blokes. They were looking down on the pit line making some dickhead remarks about a Dymo's carbon fibre bonnet. I was taking pictures 3m from them. Well, I couldn't resist and told them what I though of their comments

Greg.. cheers mate, i had a blast, Sat turned out really good, weather was great, chucked out a couple of 1.58's and a 1.59, all ready for Sunday ! hahahaha. Well done Suzie, she had a great time on Sat in the 32, hunting all the other cars down, GO GIRL And Damo.. mate great times of 1.59s Wahooo great stuff. Sat ,had a great drive me and juzza chasing each other,wa had a ball. Then Juzza had a few issues with his car, so he was out for sunday. Sunday morning weather was pretty crap, raining wet track, so went out with my road tyres, done a 2.12, weather started to clear up , and the track drying out, so decided to go the slicks car felt really good, done the warm up lap, then really went for it, going really well and i new it was a fast lap, turning into corner twelve going onto the straight, came into corner wrong angle, so hit the Apex all wrong , so exit angle was stuffed, just kept on going to outside, tried to pull it back, still going flat strap, but hit the ripple strip, slid over that, got onto the grass car done a 180Deg then reverse straight over all the kitty litter,i hadnt slowed down much , then onto grass other side. I knew what was coming up , so i just tried to turn right , so i hit the tyre wall nearly parallel, bit of damage dents, broken wing mirrors, and a bit of damaged pride. Suzie saw it all happen , said it looked pretty cool, would like to see it on vid. Drove car pack to pits to inspect the damage , scrutineers gave it the once over while i was in the medical centre. Well that was it for the day for all of us, we all packed up and went back to Rob& Suzies, where Rob done his magic. Rob buffed of all the Green Paint from the tyre wall, pushed out nearly all the dents .replaced the glass in both my wing mirrors. The Haydens are the best... Rob..cheers mate.. Suzie your a gem So Another exciting time at Philip Island, never a dull moment, we all had a great time. So thanks guys for the support. ............GO HARD.

Great to hear you all had a good time. Sorry to hera about the probs that a few had. Obviously I didn't make it. Below is an exert from an e-mail sent to my workshop. "I was told on Wednesday that you had all the parts required and we were looking good to have the car ready for Philip Island this weekend. On Friday morning (at 10.15am) you told me that you in fact didn't have all the parts required and that the part that you didn't have, had in fact, been ordered on Monday. Clearly I was misinformed on Wednesday. By your own admission you did not have all the necessary parts on Wednesday. Had I been told on Wednesday that a part was on order, I would have assumed the car was not going to be ready and would not have gone about preparing myself (and others) for the weekend." Hope to see you all in Feb (or at Sexpo).
