| Oh yeah, and I have officially been inducted into the DieHard hall of fame, ie people that say that they will come down to Phillip Island, and actually show up |

| what about ppl who never said they will show up but do! I drove 2 hrs just to take some snaps, get sunburn, almost into a punch-up, got a speeding fine, (watch Juzza drive around with air-con on and hand brake) then go home on the same day and loose the windscreen on the freeway All in 8hrs.....lots of fun

| Got to Neil's about half an hour ago after leaving Rob & Suzie's at 3pm so I'm a bit buggered but what a weekend! Greg, thanks for defending my honour mate - sounds like you had an eventful time! The speeds you get to at PI are mind blowing... nothing in NSW even comes close. Hooking into turn 1 at 170km/h and feeling the g's trying to suck your eyeballs sideways out of the sockets is a new experience for me! Stoked to get 1.59's too Was great to see Suze slashing her laptimes and rounding up lesser exotics! That blue ute was a beast - shot past me down the straight like I was standing still except that I was doing 200. Crazy stuff. Never a dull moment and a very friendly crowd in general in all sorts of machinery. Can't wait till Feb. |

| Thats it. Ive told the missus that Im down for the next one. and suprisingly she said that it sounds like fun and she wants to come! That'll give me time to get my seat mounted and do a few mods to the car. Bad luck about the crash. It looks like you fixed it pretty damn quickly though. Well done. |

| Thanks James! The extras certainly helped in the corners as it was totally planted but they would have robbed me of some top speed. I'll have some more grunt care of new heads and cams come February so that'll get me around a bit quicker. Hey Ben, get your photos up mate |

| 1/40sec. usually I pan just by hand. This time I used a monopod and found it very different to do it correctly. If you time it right, looks good but there is a lot of blurry shots too. Thank god for digital

| Yes, well, what a weekend !!!!!!!!! Great fun as usual just clowning around and enjoying the company of the good Soarer folk. Had a ball with Gaz and Ben at my place before AND after the event - we really DID PARTY !!!!! Sadly my coil packs or spark plugs died on saturday and I had trans overflow issues as well. I fixed the trans problem easily but the coil issues will have to wait ........ So I didn't run on Sunday which a HUGE disappointment for me. The 3 runs I did do on Saturday were top fun and I had a ball trying to wrestle the MARLEW Special around the track. It's so different to the V8 in EVERY respect and my old bag of tricks went straight out the window as I have to learn things all over again !!!! I caught up with my favourite tutor Chris Muskat on Sunday and he is gonna give me some lessons in the car at the next meet. Chris is the guy who taught me how to drive my '31 at a frightening pace so I can't wait to see how he handles the TT. I still managed to blast a couple of 1:58's out of the TT even with the misfiring problem so once that's fixed and I get a handle on the Beast PLUS fit the MiNes and the 440's, get an LSD AND squeeze the Dunlop 280's under it, times will tumble. Really need that MiNes for hitting Siberia out of T4 - that is the only thing I found similar in the way I approach a lap compared to the '31. Slack Ass Ben hasn't posted any photos yet so here's some of HIS pics cropped to my liking .......

I am actually rather unimpressed with most of my pics, no where near my normal standard That was the first real test I have given my new equipment, so I can only get better! Bit like you and your car, that bloody UBER LENS destroys all the tricks I used with my old gear.

On the way home, I thought of the BEST way to fix your tranny at the track when it still hot. Bit late now, but may be a useful tip in the future... Instead of wrestling with hot oil out of the drain tube, why not take the cooler line off the radiator and crank the motor until you have removed as much as you need? |
