Hey guys, not sure how many of you guys know, but an incident has happened at curtin uni on the 15th. i might not be sure of this but theres a few of us here that goto/work/study at curtin and there hasnt been much light shed on the matter. An asian girl committed suicide off the engineering building. im very curious to find out why the police/curtin has announced that it wasnt a suspicious death? and i also remember one of you guys, with a white manual TT that parks near the area in which they found the body. i just want to know more! What has higher management said to the staff of curtin?(sam, since you work there?) could it be a cover up to save the reputation of CBS? *also heard from a reliable source from CIC that the girl had been raped the night before she took her life* so whats your views?, to those who know about it?
i havent heard read anything in the paper about the incident and im pretty sure it hasnt been on the news yet.
Sad indeed... if she did get raped hope they catch the bastard and chop his balls off... and make him eat them too! Yep, all you can do now is just assume things, they won't report it on the news...

Yeah I read those notices as well, was in engineering today and didn't see anything going on. Funny that on thursday night there were 3 notices up on the website with her name and details (e,g CIC student, from HK) and know there is only one saying that she died and there are no suspicious circumstances and that is all
Bloody hell, found out from my gf last night the chick my gf works with is the dead girls flat mate!!! She doesn't know (or is not telling) what really happened though...

yeah Wayne, I'm the white manual tt guy. I actually was leaving the engineering building shortly after it happened. I left about 3am and the police and ambulance had just got there. No one was touching or moving the body. The police wouldnt let us closer than about 20 metres. Could just see a body lying next to the wall, with what looked like her head against the wall. The police kept shining their torches up the wall and we just assumed it was suicide, although havent heard anything else about it. I think the odd thing is that the body was at the bottom of a section of wall with no windows or walk ways above it and I think that is why the police probably investigated it for so long. Just seemed unusual as she would of had to of jumped from the roof (dont know if you can get access to it?) or climbed through a small gap near the roof.
I think thats all I can really say, and i dont want to disrespect her family or any one that may of known her. Its a tragic thing and all i can say is may she rest in peace.

The really sad thing is that there were quite a few people in the area at the time but no one was able to prevent it from happening. I know personally that If i had of looked out the window behind me I would of seen the whole thing unfold. Quite chilling really

She was a CIC student visiting from Hong Kong - I believe it took some time to track down her parents. The cleaners found her body at the start of their shift, as it was still dark at the time I heard that a lot of them walked past her a few times without noticing she was there. According to the emails I've been receiving from the VC's office, police are not suspecting any foul play and are treating it as a suicide. She jumped from the concrete overpass between buildings 204 and 205. Very upsetting indeed. The University is offering free counselling to staff and students and I believe there will be a memorial of some kind. That's all I know.
Ok, apparently she fell head first. Her flatmate said her face was so smashed it was hard to recognise her (she was asked to make positive identification). The sad thing is her parents haven't seen her for four years. Her flatmate knows the reason why she did it but won't tell, only said it wasn't due to exam pressure or boyfriend issues...

Update: my contact tells me that she didn't jump from the concrete overpass as first thought, but that she scaled the maintenance ladder on the outside of the building and climbed onto airconditioning control duct on the third floor, which is a lot higher.
