i have been to wa suspensions to have my car lowered and was quoted 2400 for tein coil overs, it is on 17s and i think it just rides to high it is about 3 inches(maybe higher) from top of the wheel to arch, i have seen other soarers with rims and standard suspension and theres are much lower, i don't have the tools or resources to lower it myself with DIY tutorial, can anybody who has lowered there car just give me some advice on what to do please

Oh I also know of someone who used an oxy to heat his springs while his car was on a jack, then lower the car. When the springs cool they compress and the car ends up lower.

If your car is a UZZ31, wouldn't you have air suspension? If so, you'll need an aftermarket air suspension controller. Jeff Harper from f1kits.com can supply these brand new with manuals (I think).
Maybe their $2400 quote was because they needed to remove your air suspension struts and replace them? I have no idea how much the actual coilovers would cost, but I'd imagine the process of removing the air suspension struts justify the total cost.

My new design height controller for Airbag AND Active cars will be ready in the first half of next year. Please do not bug me about it yet. I'm still testing designs.
Cost of removing/fitting struts should be bugger all. Most cost will be the new struts. In fact you can usually con them for freee fitting when buying new. This is what makes me laugh about people removing the air suspension. If it's done properly it's going to cost as much or more than fixing the air suspension with new struts that you know are going to fit properly and work properly and not devalue the car.

If any of the aftermarket designs were any good at all I would be using one and not designing my own. I still use an ASE 664 for it's height monitoring 'cos I haven't gotten around to a height display but it's even really useless for that. All aftermarket designs are modifications of the factory high/low switch setup which is fine for what the factory did. But as soon as you start to vary the height by more than a small amount it has severe limitations. This is why both Active and Airbag cars don't vary a great deal in height with the factory switch. All but one design is digitally based and some with only 5 steps in level. Even the best has only 16. This applies to the level monitor in the 664 too which is why it is not of great use. Feild and others are the same. There is only one aftermarket system that is continuously variable and that is the cheapest. None of them actually intercept and correctly modify the height sensors. This is because they realise that they cannot sample the height either quickly enough or at great enough resolution. One system that would work extremely well is the Jaycar DFA but you would need 4 of them and it would be rather cumbersome to adjust. At least it would give you 256 steps sampled at a 4MHz rate which is good enough. Any of the Jap controllers could be that good. They just need to throw some computing power at them rather than gimmick electronics.
My controller continuously monitors and alters height sensor outputs altering only their DC level while maintaining the original analogue sensor signal without distorting it in any way. It can also alter the amplitude of the analogue signal allowing fine control of suspension behaviour. And on Actives too. No other system can do that or, as I say, I would not have gone to the effort.
