Clerks is so much more then just appreciating the movie, you gotta take into account it's background and it being the start of one fantastic series. Ii was made on less then a $30k budget and grossed at the box office over $3 mil.

Are the "Jersey series of films" you're referring to are the works of writer/director Kevin Smith (aka Silent Bob)?
Clerks was an amazing film. This was Kevin Smith's first cinematic piece and his practically non-existent budget forced Clerks to rest entirely on the quality of the script - which was flawless. All the characters were played by then unknown actors, the entire film was shot in monochrome using only four sets and a handful of extras. It is still to this day a cult classic and made over 3 million US in it's first week.

Other Smith films to follow were Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (a festering pimple on the face Kevin Smith's career) Jersey Girl and Clerks II.

Clerks II, I'll grant you, was funny in parts. But seemed to be in an entirely different league to Clerks altogether. The humor in my opinion was less sarcastic and biting, and was vaguely reminiscent of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back; crass.

And don't forget the masterpiece of the animated Clerks series.

I only like movies i enjoy >.> Budget size or profits wont sway me one way or the other.

I also found the original Clerks boring and hard to stay interested in.
Script writing is only good enough to a certain level.. When you are (as stated) stuck with the same number of unchanging scenes watching a black and white movie... attention tends to waiver.

nasty, mate of mine while severely "intoxicated" on his bucks night got a little helper from a mate

Only problem was he is a corporal or something in the Army, and random drug testing = major if you get caught

So yeah that one kinda backfired a bit...

Paul i dont think i ever met Bam but from what ive heard he was an interesting character ;)

Any idea what happened to him?

He's a big malay fella, definitely one of the funniest guys around, but he was constantly high. Every time you saw him, he'd already smoked a 50 bag of rock before he'd come out. He used to have a rock pipe next to his bed cause he couldn't bare to get out of bed in the morning without it.

He's somewhere in a gutter in Malay now, back with the rich family haha don't think he's ever coming back to Australia now...

Wow, I wish I had friends like that back in my days of hardcore candy use :-)

Seems like Jager is becoming the new thing hey paul ??? 12 shots is a decent effort :-) the most i've done in a night is a bottle with about 2 shots left in it.... Never again. Have you tried Atomic Jager bombs ?? instead of Red bull, use Pulse. :-)

Speed and rock is NASTY stuff... just from seeing what it did to some of my mates was enough to steer me away from the A mate of mine got in so much debt with a dealer and couldn't pay up and has since had to leave the state/country. Haven't heard from him since. Also had a friend whos boyfriend was a speed junkie and whenever he got a bad bag he went balistic and smacked her around till she could barely walk.

Never tried Atomic Jagerbombs... that sounds like the go this weekend!

By 6am I felt pretty sober, it's not so much the Jager that me up, it's the 12 cans of Red Bull that accompany it haha

Yeh, you're right, after seeing what rock has done to a couple of my mates, I would never ever ever touch any of it. I'll stick to occasional doses of excessive alcohol thanks :-)

The "original"/traditional JagerBomb is actually just done with beer, Paul - "depth charge" styles. Pint of Heineken and a shot of Jager...mmmm...game on!!

newbies should always start with half.. and see how that goes. when u play this sort of "game" you got to be CAREFUL. some people have a bad reaction to it and freak out so play responsibly. i dropped 1.5 on friday night, 2 on sat night and 3 on sunday at renaissance. i know its bad but the effect on the following days since friday weren't as good. best effect is when you do it only occasionally. anyways back to topic :-)

I find this funny, when you think people on this forum hide their plates because law enforcement officers may read about illegal modifications to their cars yet members willing talk about this as if it was the weather.
