OK, it's happening, short notice, but we can always have another one if that suits some people better. First off, can anyone bring a BBQ? Doesn't have to be huge, but not too small either. When?: Sunday 7th January, 2007 10:30am start - Finish mid afternoon or when everyone gets bored. Turn up any time if you just want to meet fellow Soarer Owners and have a chat. Where?: The Ace Internet car park. ("The Shop") Go along King William Road (Goodwood) then turn into Albert Street (deli on the corner) then turn into the first driveway on the right. If your car is low you may want to park in the street as the driveway has scraped a couple of lowered Soarers. Why?: Meets are always good fun, plus you can tackle small maintenance or upgrade jobs with other people to assist or blame if it all goes wrong What to bring?: Not much for chatting, though a fold up chair might be handy, plus something for shelter if it's really hot or wet - eg Umbrella. Bring food and drink to help you survive the day. If you want any jobs done, bring whatever parts and tools you think you might need to do the job. Please add your name to the list and if you would like to tackle anything on your car - that gives us a better idea how much we can assist. Peter Nitschke, check brakes and fluid. Ben Socratous, brake hoses, rear engine oil seal (hehehehe)

I think I may forego the oil seals and do the gearbox mount and a power steering flush instead

As I will have only just arrived from Sydney on Saturday, please put me down (prospectively) for meet and greet (probably around lunchtime). Having said that, I suspect the Soarer will be filthy from the drive over (its been raining here the last 3 days), so I may be looking for somewhere to wash it! Rob

With the water restrictions, not being clean is acceptable. Mine will probably be dirty still too

Yes, I noticed SA made the Sydney news today with the increase to Level 3 water restrictions.

The forecast for Sunday is 24 degrees with a "morning shower or two". (what if it's 3?) So you can borrow a bucket and wash the car after the rain.

I'm in. I'll bring the BBQ again if you like. Does anyone have experience at taking the door skins off the inside? My driver's side door won't open from the outside so will be looking for any assistance going to get that fixed. - Also please excuse the big ding in my front driver's side qtr panel....

Im working in the morning so will make a brief stopover in the early afternoon. Just keen for someone to ride with me around the block to find a rattle in the dash, and someone who knows what a failing rear wheel bearing or diff(please no!) sounds like String

Brenton, your BBQ will be most appreciated. Just get the little clip from Toyota and with luck, the little arm will only be bent but not broken and we can help you fix it.

Plenty of mobile guys that advertise trim fixes and stuff though Joel! Peter, I never realised you were so close, Im less than 2kms from your shop, but unfortunately come Sunday I'll be a good 2500kms away in Queensland Would have liked to bring down the RX-7 to show it off as well (do my profile pics work?), but hopefully there's another event soon!

Thanks for the invite Peter I'll see if I can make it - haven't mixed with any Soarer folk before should be good! My list of things is always growing, but the suspension height out of whack on the driver's side and steering wobbles are the two most annoying. Until Sunday Cheers.

I think it's probably time for me to do something. Well all have a chat on sunday and I'll start to sort something out. Maybe the end of January... Looks like it's going be a BIG turnout Peter, I'll have to come early so I don't get stuck on the road. |

Just another thought, probably a good idea if we all grab a couple of chops, snags or whatever you fancy now that Brenton has offered to bring the BBQ.

I can organise a cruise, I have found some sweet roads up in the Barossa when cruising around for work, but if I organise it, you have to play by my rules! I'll explain on sunday...
