This could be a good concept, just keep it away from anything that might come even close to car parts and or services.

Im 1 unit off completing my degree in contract law. But after 4 yrs of doing this i actually wanna get into HR now.

But for the moment i work in Myer (Garden City) in furniture department but i cross over to hifi quite regularly..

We are not paid commission or anything, but we are now aloud to bargain with customers. So if you want a good price or whatever - come see me.

Ill give you cost price + rounding. (So myer at least makes some money). So example, something costs myer $1925 you'll get it for &1930 etc. Dont worry, its all above board as well.

Hmmm, sounds good, I'll be buying some fancy home theatre surround sound equipment in the next month or two, would be good if you could hook me up a deal. Hell, if you can get me some at near cost price, I'll give you something extra on the side too I presume you can sell Bose or similar quality stuff?

Yeah mate, no worries. I can help you out with it if you want to. PM me sometime with details of what's involved (ie wages, dividends, etc.) and we can sort it out. Individual returns are piece of piss.
I don't work in public practice anymore though, so if you specifically want to be looked after by an accounting firm then I'm not the guy for it. I prefer to stay in commercial rather than public accounting for $$$ reasons

What is your long term plan to stay on the payroll, Cameron? It might occur to Myers that they could get a better return on their staff investment by employing somebody who returns them a gross margin greater than 0.25%.

To everyone else, I suggest you get your orders in early.

With that in mind... hey Cameron, you got a PM mate!!!

I don't think they'd be doing it to every single customer that comes and buys stuff. I presume (like Cameron does here on SC) salesmen would only give such deals to a select few individuals. Doubt Myer will notice it much (read: I hope Myer won't notice it much, before I get sorted)

Its seriously above board guys.

The Myer policy has recently changed (As of April 1st) to allow us to flex our prices. This is mainly due to Myer losing some market share in electrical because our pricing hasnt been compedative enough to deal with other retailers who offer "less for cash" etc. Now we are not meant to be auctioning stuff off willy nilly. Infact we are meant to stand by the rrp. only if
A) The customer asks for a better price and we may lose the sale
B)We do a price match (providing the match isnt below our cost) We have been told to be compeditive in this area as it means that the customer has been looking around and if we can close the sale - do so.

There are heaps of price matches done every day, and as long as it doesnt go below cost - it doesnt go undetected. It wouldnt be detected - but if it is, my best mate is my manager (he got me the job 3yrs ago) and my gf's mum is 2nd in charge of the store (pure co-incedence) so that should take the heat off. But seriously, there is no way.

But your right, i dont do it all the time - otherwise it would look sus. Just to friends and family.

So, for anyone thats interested - find out what you want and PM me the model# and ill get back to you with a price. It may be a great price - it may not be. Its just one of those things. Some retailers (read: Harvey Norman) buy in serious 1 off quantities and therefore have a lower cost price. Myer buys things with a Just In Time approachmeaning our cost is a little higher.

Anyyway. Trust WA to get off topic!
