Yeah that's weird then.. I know with mine i could operate them without the engine running.. I flattened my battery because I had them on for a long time without the engine running. When i initially bench tested them out of the car I had trouble firing one up, but that was because the power supply couldn't supply the start up current ( around 5 - 6A ). If your battery is in good condition it should have no trouble supplying the current.

In the instructions that came with mine is said some cars will need to have them plugged in backwards and that it wouldn't damage the ballast, have a read of yours but I guess it would probably be the same, they all probably come from the same place anyways!

John, reading the instructions is a mission in itself. The english is terrible and there is no grammar whatsoever that one can understand what they're saying.

You're lucky you got instructions! hahahaha. I didn't get anything. But John sounds like hes on the money. It does sound like reverse polarity. It shouldn't damage the ballasts, I'm pretty sure they have reverse polarity protection built in. Check your headlight fuses too, they may have blown if you accidentally reverse the polarity.

hahaha.. I knew you would be pleased Adam!.. Yeah its the best thing i've done to the car. Can actually see at night now. Dont need to use the high beams!
