| A random gathering of Soarers at BP at Southlands. I pulled up and there was a gold one and a silver one there. Gold one had chrome wheels, no wing. Silver one was manual, had exhaust and some racing type rims. Owner had only got it in the last week. Told him all about SC of course |

| White soarer turning onto Ocean reef road off wanneroo road towards freeway around 7am this morning with west coast eagle plates. Another white Soarer turning off Wanneroo road onto Ocean reef road heading towards wangara about half hour later. Seen another Soarer in Joondalup about 1 hour later near the petrol station across from the shopping centre, personal black and white number plates. Greg Perth WA |

| Only seen 4 jz3x and uz3x Soarers in Japan so far. Very little in the way of riced cars however there are heaps of exotics floating around. Seen more Ferraris than Toyota sports cars here. INCLUDING an enzo sitting infront of a performance garage opposite my apartment in Tokyo. Pretty horn. Also seen an older clunker Soarer in Toyota City. Fitting i guess. Nothing too flash though. |

Actually i have seen TONNES of mid 90's cars here. Mainly Celicas though for some strange reason. I cant work it out. But as Adam said, everyone loves their small boxy van type cars. Strange craze. Only seen 3 coupe Skylines in total, probably another 3 again for 4 doors. There are probably 4 cars i see the most here.. BMW 7series Toyota Crown Toyota Prias Toyota Celsior Crowns are a dime a dozen for some reason as well... |

| Yay in a few years I may be able to buy an export 7 series for cheap...as if I'd give the Soarer up. Does that mean that all the soarers/skylines etc are sitting in auction garages waiting to be sold? |

I think you'll only be able to import a 15 year one, not 100% sure. yeah, apparently the rego costs go up exponentially the older the car is. So I think people just put the older cars in storage. It makes sense, because if you look on J-Spec for example, a 1999 Silvia has the same kilometres as a 1992 Aristo... Or a 2002 Skyline has same kays as a 1994 Skyline etc... They just don;t get driven after a certain amount of time, so the kays don't clock up for many years, the car sits idle. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

You can buy a 7series in Perth, so good luck importing one =P As for performance cars and 'ricer' cars... they are most likely either all sold overseas or kept in storage and used at tracks. We have been out in random places pretty late at nights and still never see any skyrines or silvias etc. A mate who follows the drifting and Japan street racing scene tells me that it is basically non-existant in Tokyo, however Osaka has a couple of illegal street races here and there after dark. But not common. And from what i have seen noone here can drift. They have drifting games in all the arcades (of course) and every person i have seen using one sucked sweaty ball sacks at it. From what i have seen car wise, people use their cars as a comfortable device to get from a to b. Its quite common to see cars idling on the side of the road with someone asleep in it. |

Not sure about the rules now, but I thought you could import anything sold here, as long as it's 15 years or older... but those rules could have changed, who knows. |
