G'day,
Anyone installed an SAFC themselves and wouldn't mind helping out on a weekend? Also got a boost conroller that needs to be installed aswell.

I think I paid about $100 in Labor to get mine installed at XSpeed, though they didn't pick up that the SAFC was dodgy.
You'll need to get them tuned as well. |

Yeah just rang them up and they said $110 for install and $176 for tune....? ($286)
Hyderdrive Malaga said $150 for install and $150 tune! ($300) |

I had mine done by Mick at Ovaboost, can't remember exactly how much it was, but it was cheaper than Xspeed. 99 bucks for install and 150 for tune from memory. Although I did have an EBC installed as well for another 99 dollars, so maybe like, bulk discount or something. Mick's very good though! |

Kurt, everyone will just tell you the best one is whoever they went to, like Daniel just did.
SAFCs are not too complex and all of those workshops are good places.
Choose one close and with times that suit you. |

It's a super AFC, not really rocket science, but any workshop you mentioned will do.
Ant @ x-speed is the best tuner in Perth (IMO), but being a S-AFC install theres not much to stuff up... |

HAhaha, was just trying to stir up a debate. Yeah like Luke has said, depends who you ask, they'll generally tell you their tuner is the best 
Anyway, you can't go wrong with either of them. |

I don't dare touch my tune settings even if its running rich because I have no idea what does what. Unless you know how it works and how your car is responding, don't play around with it. It's best done on a dyno anyway.
With the boost controller, get the hosing in yourself, as they like to say it's hard to plumb up the rear turbos and like to charge an arm and leg for it. Just get the workshop to hook up the electronics if it's an EBC.

I guess I was lucky and i'm booked in for next Friday.
Unfortunatley i'm no electrical gun so I guess I'll have to pay them for the install...could of used the money on other things. |

im headed to x-speed on the 10th for a tune, someone stuffed around with my SAFC and AVCR so now my car misfires at 70k or high boost, cant even overtake buses at the moment! absolute killer when people touch stuff in the car... |

yeah been reading lots of differnt things over the past few days. Some say the SAFC will raise it slighty...i'm not looking to play around with boost i'm just using boost that my mods have given me.
have you got one installed Luke? where you get it from? |

everyone who gets in the car plays with it, so far no luck trying to fix it so hanson (from x-speed) is going to tune it and see what he can do |

Kurt, I have a Mines ECU instead which takes out fuel, boost and speed cuts. These are rare and Neil's Rush Imports is generally the place to look.
Fuel cut defenders should be available from every performance store, all online shops, do a bit of searching for some information. |
