We're trying organise another Decca day. Currently the proposed date is 20th October. Pricing will depend upon numbers. Expect around the $80 mark, but can be as low as $60 if we get enough people. More details here: http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=35435

Hey Ross and Daniel, Sorry to be an annoying mofo, I'm 100% keen on this in my mind but still very hesitant to spend all day sliding my car around the place and blowing a diff and paying $1000 towing back from Shep to Melb

No No No i'm on holiday's then. From the 16th Oct to the 26th Oct.Bugger Bugger Bugger. Move it to the 3rd of Nov.
Maurice,Joshua you fuccken grils you wont blow a diff, stop with exceses get your arsess up there it's the best fun you'll have in a day. If your diff can't stand spinning, it's wheel at 30 to 40 K's then get of the dry roads. Last time i was up there i took the LS400 and spent nearly all day out there sideways, wheels spinning.I'll be suprise how slow you need to go to keep it sideway's,go to fast you'll just spin out all the time.

guys guys there is no way known you will blow a diff or even do much damage to your tyres they wet the track and there is very minimal strain put on the car i am talkin from experience as i did one but month or so ago in the flyline and no probs at all; however if you have a xr6 turbo you may blow your power steering pump lol seen that happen....keep posted peoples as i will be organising one for just us at Drag Tag that is where i did mine and it was really good cheap too and i am able to organise a private session for us also just working out on dates as i would like to do it in the soarer this time..hahaha and plus its much closer..

Hi Cara, whats the cost though, shep was the cheapest we found?
Maurice and Joshua as cara said, its not to bad, i was going backwards in my soup after i spun it out the track is wet and your not going that fast, if you blow your diff here then it really needed to be replaced anyway.
most that happened was that it stalled a bit and spun the tyres cause there wasn't enough traction

How much room is there at Drag Tag though, I thought it was small/average size with big concrete walls around it i.e. not much room for runoff if you spin out?

i found there is enough room bit decieving at first but one your on there is plenty of room to fool around in the history of that place being there; there has only been on stack and thats because the dick apparantly was being a dick lol...just messing around in full on cloud of smoke..

Decca has plenty of room its a massive skid pan, can go fairly quick practice drifting etc Id say its pretty safe., Cara did you want to come along too or you you content with drag tag? There are a few pics on the supra site.

guys, just be aware, once you say your in for sure you can't back out... and if your a no show i will still need a deposit as to cover the track its 1200 for the day, and i don't want to get left paying most of this for the no shows.... I'm sure you can understand this... i'm even considering getting a deposit so i'm not stuck with the costs...
also i still haven't booked as we don't yet have the numbers...

Hey guys, will it be witches hats set up and timed runs over a course or will it be a big wide open area for you to just slide around in? Being a heavy assed automatic Soarer I don't want to be ripping the hand brake up to spin the car around, too paranoid about damage.
I've seen footage from some skidpan days where it is just a big oval and people driving around in a big circle sideways then spin around and go the other way? What is the plan for your day?

Yes it's a witches hat setup. It's timed but you can choose not to have it timed and just practice the different courses. It starts off as a big oval thing that you drive around as quick as you want. Whether you go around it sideways or not is up to you. The course then gets more complicated, depends on what the instructor decides. If you're too paranoid about breaking something by using your handbrake then Don't use it! Can't say I've seen anyone do damage by using the handbrake but you never know. It's a great way to improve your driving. Really teaches you a lot about your car and what to do when things go wrong.

its a massive block of asphalt, there is no oval, there isn't anything really to hit. you won't be spinning round then running in reverse, you may spin out, but on wet asphalt it isn't really an issue.
I have a couple of pictures on the supra site in the second post so have a look...
If your worried something will break,(which i doubt) isn't it better that it happens in a safe controlled environment?
i have a few avi's that i can show you, where is the best place to post them?
