I got a couple of runs in, but had R-Comps on from the AHG Sprint Series in the morning, and they are terrible for straight line stuff (worse than street tyres).

Only did a 12.2 @ 118mph or something, fair way off the mid-11's I'm aiming for.

Nar nothing to do with the car, it just wasn't getting traction with the r-comps. Hard sidewalls aren't good for the strip.

My street tyres were getting .2 better 60' times, and 11.8's easily enough.

I know what you mean.
I used R comps (ADVANS) when dragging the old civic and got 14.2 with 2.3 sec 60' times.
With the standard street tyres i got my 14.1 with a 60' of 2.0.

You are correct about the stiffness of the side wall and how it inhibits the 'flex' required for the launch. Hence why drag radials have a wrinkle wall to maximise that flex.

R Comps great for the track - Worst possible for drag.
