North - Hyperdrive
Central - C-Red
South - X-Speed

Any of these shops will be able to help you out, and are the best in the business.

Definitely recommend C-Red. I get most my hard work done there and have never had a problem, plus have excellent service. The owner is also a big fan of toyotas, so knows the 1J well.

Joe from Mobile Masters is always a good option. Well experienced and reasonably priced. Not sure how much mobile work he still does, but he definitely operates out of a workshop in Joondalup.

Joe Bata... oh Leon already pimped him.

*Thumbs up*

He would be your best bet for the care and love your Soarer deserves ;) </wankery>

But srsly, C-Red told me they are happy to do performance work on the ol' Toyboata however they arent good at troubleshooting and repairing general faults like power steering and the likes.

X-Speed also attract additional costs, because they are so busy and can afford to do that sort of thing =P

Bentley Autos is dodgy f-ck number one.

Precise Suspensions has had jagged reports in the past.

Not sure about other garages... however there is another guy out in Malaga who used to be known as a Soarer specialist.. im sure a couple of people here can provide experiences.

not at all, 10k is the going rate for a standard rebuild with some forged gear.

Doing it at home (and paying bugger all labour) my mate managed to rebuild his RB26 for only 8k with forged everything.

The general consensus is a big HP RB26 build will cost you at least 15k.
Being a 6cyl with parts not as easily accessible, a 1JZ would be in that ballpark if you went the whole hog. There really isn't much point when you can buy a 2JZ for cheap though, hence why not many do it.

If you don't believe me, ask Joe how much his built 2JZ has cost him. I'm guessing quite a lot...

I was supprised to hear that the Police will actually pursue your car after being stolen if it has a GPS tracking alarm thing (You call up the device and it reads out GPS coords). You just tell them the phone number and they will do the rest for you.

That is an alternative to paying a monthly fee for a security company to monitor it for you...

That's pretty much what I was getting at Callum.

Though six cylinder into V8 has been done. I still haven't seen that car even though it is in WA, the guy must never come out!

nope...i was thinking more interms of, pulling the 1uz apart, cleaning it, replacing the stuffed up parts, replacing with high performace internals, and putting it back togeather.

callum: nah i dont. i was on the verge of buying a 4.0gt, but cancelled that, as going for a holiday end of year...life is not fair :-(
