Neil, Meetup is scheduled for 10, but I wasn't planning on actually leaving Thornleigh until about 10:30 since you always get a few late arrivals. But if everyone aims to be there at around 10, we can have a bit of a chat and rest before the long drive ahead.
Thornleigh is in between Parramatta and Hornsby (closer to Hornsby though). From Penrith, you'd drive down the M4, past Parramatta and take the James Ruse Drive exit. Follow that and take the Pennant Hills Road exit and turn right. Thornleigh Maccas will be on the left hand side of Pennant Hills road once you're far enough up the road. It should take you about an hour to get there from Penrith (whereis estimates 51 minutes).
I got my new rims put on today with new rubber - so I'm looking forward to wearing them in nicely on the weekend!!

No worries Damien. I'll even add some more detail...
Meet here at 10:00 am - McDonalds Thornleigh
We'll leave at around 10:30 (but no later than this!), and head up Pennant Hills Road to Thompsons Corner. We'll then bypass Hornsby by going up the M1. Take the Berowra Exit and continue up the Pacific Highway until the old toll booths. Should get here by 11:00, and we'll hang around for stragglers here until then.
Then, the old road run begins! Be careful when driving through Cowan - It's a 60 zone and we'll be driving through it at that speed. Eventually, we'll get towards Gosford. Head towards the city, go over the bridge, turn right at the lights and the lunch place is on the left.
Cook your BBQ, have a drink and a chat. At around 2:00, we'll start making tracks again. Head back the way that we came until we get to the Gosford Interchange. We turn right down Wisemans Ferry road and stop again for people to catch up a short while up the road.
Then, we continue along the entire length of Wisemans Ferry Road. We'll eventually get to the ferry where we can chat and chill again for a while. After we cross the river, we can split up. I'll be heading back home via Galston Gorge, so anyone who needs to get back up to the Central Coast can follow me on this route to get back towards where we started.
I'm gonna bring along colour maps of the whole journey and distribute them at 10:00 at Thornleigh Maccas and at lunch for anyone else who hasn't got them.
Don't forget stuff for the BBQ and a few drinks . It's a long drive and there aren't that many places to stop and buy a drink along the way.
I'll be bringing mustard, tomato sauce, bbq sauce, bbq utensils, oil, etc. All you need to bring is your meat for the BBQ, breadstuffs and salad for yourself if you wish.

I'm sure you'll be able to catch up if you miss the start Neil.
Rainer - so that's why you've been hiding! Scared the Melbourne crew would berate you for leaving them with their crappy weather hey? (Just joking ) Be great if you made it along!
Welcome to Sydney Rainer, just show up for the cruise and bring what ever you want. I will probably meet up at Maccas and maybe go up to Berowra then I need to go back home.

No worries - that's the secondary reason behind the old-toll gate meeting point. So that everyone can catch up (and I'm sure a few people will get stuck behind lights en route).
I have finished making the maps for the journey. I will be printing these in colour for everyone tomorrow or Friday. ut if you wanna study them now, you're more than welcome to...

Looks like we might have some company up the old Pacific Highway - I just found out that Skylines Australia are having a cruise up to Avoca Beach starting at Thornleigh Maccas on Saturday too...
Jarrod, thanks for organising this and preparing maps etc. I'm very keen on meeting up with you all, but at present I may have to join up in Gosford: I've been told I cannot leave Sydney (CBD) until about 10:45AM.
