I'm an experience pack rider on a bike - I've done many many many miles with groups and clubs, and "corner marking" is the go. It means there's better traffic flow, and you don't have 20 cars all piled up on the side of the road waiting for a slow coach. Everyone goes at their own pace. Here's the system:

- The leader is the one who organised the event.

- The car/bike behind the leader stops when the leader turns into a new road, or 5 ways etc etc etc, and directs the rest of the group in the right direction.

- A tailgunner is designated at the start of the trip, and when the corner marker eyes the tailgunner they can take off too.

- So nobody gets lost, don't pass the group leader!

I'd be more than happy to be the tailgunner.. sit back with the cruise control on with a CD or 12 cranking. I can't play funny buggers for a long long time, since if I lose a single point between now and Jan 4 2009, I'm walking for 12 months!

As for location; something closer to Melbourne would suit me fine. I'm in Bendigo, so a Great Ocean Road cruise would mean either an overnighter, or a long-arse ride home. King Lake etc sounds peachy to me!

Do we have any other options other than GOR and Black Spur other than Arthurs Seat... Getting so old!

GOR owns too, they way NO ONE can get lost, much better location, and the food at the end is much better too :-)

less cops through black spur, i think you are scared of black spur since you have been avioding it for the last 2 cruise i have had through there, hehehee.

i do have another cruise in mind which goes towards gippsland side, but i have been on that road, rob hayden told me about it so ill have to look it up and go for a drive to see what its like.

I'm interested towards gippsland side too, since every cruise i been to was GOR or the Black spur.

Something different would be nice!!

You can come up to Bendigo and do blockies around Hargreaves St with all the Falcons and Crummydoors... make sure you've got 20" chrome wheels and 4 subwoofers in the boot.

Oh wait... you couldn't FIT four subs in the boot of a Soarer! Silly me!

I'll actually be up at Myer in Bendigo tomorrow for work so I'll keep an eye out for any Soarers or flogs in Commonwhores with 20's :-)

PS - You can fit 4x subs in a Soarer, lil ones of course.

If you see a blue 92 V8 with the worst number plates on earth, that's me.

I've gotta change the rego when I can afford it... you can't have "SLO-***" on a bloody Soarer!

PS. Who'd want 4 subs? Seems a little excessive!

I guess it's because I listen to metal, and 4 subs would be overkill. The stock sound system is plenty... Master of Puppets sounds pretty mean!

I'm the same. The stock speakers is enough for me. When I either have a DVD playing or MP3s I get a very nice sound in the car. I don't care if anyone outside can hear it or not as its not for their enjoyment. :-)
