Doesn't Adelaide International Raceway have some open nights where you can go and give your car a run?? Might be worth a phone call before you risk getting car-jacked.
If you find out, post the info up here as there may be some other members interested in doing the same (like me for example).

Drag racing in Adelaide died along ago, now we are just waiting for the same to happen to Bob Jane, sad but true. New track/strip will be announced by the end of this year. The proposed site was garden island but i think that is way too small to make a decent back straight. Anyway it should be around the city and nothing too far like Mallala.

Well not city as in like the clipsal track but it should be around 20km radius of the CBD. Garden Island would have been sweat if only the allotment was larger. By the way for those that dont know where Garden Island is its where the Torrens Island power station is located at Port Adelaide.

Is there even anywhere to put it around the city?
What about the Clipsal track in Victoria Park? the SA Jockey Club doesn't use it anymore, could turn it into a dedicated part of the Clipsal track, use the straight to do quarter miles, I'm pretty sure it's long enough, but I could be wrong. Someone call Media Mike and arrange it. Thanks.

The Victoria Park track is in no way viable due to noise law regulations. Any proposal for a new track has to be a considerable distance away from built up areas due to noise. The proposed locations currently sit at Garden Island, Adelaide foot hills and another 2 areas that havent been released/accounced. The foothills area however couldnt be used for the whole year but rather 6 months due to weather regulations. Did any of you guys head down to Pt. Adelaide about a month or so ago to support the new consortium?

Just a show of support that SA is ready for a new motorsport track closer to the city and that there are people willing to use to.. Pretty much drummed up media support and showed that if they build it we will come.
