My partner is going to QLD at the end of the month / the start of August, and I'm looking for something to do over the weekend.
If some folks would like to go for a roll in their Soarers, I'm more than happy to throw a route together. I'm thinking about heading out behind Mt Macedon, to Mt Alexander, then on to the Redesdale pub for a counter meal and a couple of beers.
Who's in? I'll have the date by this weekend.

When: Saturday 26th July
Where: Meeting at the servo/McDonalds/KFC near the Thunderdome on the northbound side of the freeway, at 11:00am. Melways Map 354 J3.
Should be back in Melbourne at around 4pm. Total distance around the 350 - 400km mark.

Ok kids, here's the route. Not that it will mean much to you, but hey:
We start at the servo near the Thunderdome and head north up the freeway to Faraday, where we'll hang a right turn and head in the Sutton Grange direction. A little way up there is the Mt Alexander turn, and I'll take you for a blast up there. VERY TWISTY ROAD! HEAPS OF FUN! I once came a cropper on my sportsbike up there, sh!t it hurt. Frankly I'm amazed it only happened the once.
A short stop at the top will be taken for scenic purposes - the lookout on top of Mt Alexander is amazing.
We'll head down the mount on the other side to where we came up, and duck around the back of North Harcourt where some more twisty roads and fast sweepers will present themselves for our amusement. Then we'll head to Sutton Grange, and turn left for Redesdale. Pretty cruisy road to Redesdale, but nice none the less.
We'll pull over for lunch at the pub in Redesdale, then leave in the direction of Metcalfe, then Kyneton. I'll turn right at Kyneton to head back to Bendigo, you blokes/gals turn left onto the freeway and it's a nice easy run home.

Its tomorrow? Dang.....third cruise in a row i've missed. Although this on is not my fault, got the front end off my car so I could install my FMIC, its been like this for days.....then i find out this guy only sent it yesterday or something grrrr |

You'll both be spewing when Daniel comes along to post the pics he took... we had a blast. Lots of hard and fast cornering on Mt Alexander - when we got to the top and I got out of my car, all I could smell was brakes. I reckon I could have fried up steak and eggs on the discs!
Lunch was great, although the Redesdale Tavern now holds the trophy for the biggest bogan pub in the Bendigo district. Still, those beef burgers Wafi and I had were MEAN, and Daniel's parma looked pretty good.
I need an exhaust ASAP... Daniel's V8 sounded like armageddon going on to the freeway at Kyneton. |

Just got back home and thanks for organised the cruise Glen!!
I enjoyed the cruise and the way up to Mt Alexander, it was fun!!
The beef burgers Wafi and Glen had are massive. |

Great Cruise ey Glen and Daniel! Thanks for organising and also thanks to Daniel aswell, the pics look good. The place where we stopped for lunch was good too, was a great day. |
