Do the whole lot in 1 go... but if you cant afford it, personally I would go a cat back twin 2.25" system with Rival mufflers and no hotdog resonators in between (they only steal from you that lovely exhaust note these V8's put out ) then go a set of Rush headers (non supercharged unless you are planning to supercharge) with a set of high flor cats and a cross pipe.

yeh thinking of collecting all the components of the whole system before i go for the install...am i likely to get cats, mufflers cheaper online/internationally or something? or should i just buy locally

for my Red TT soarer I purchased all my parts off Ebay, I got a 3" high flow cat for $129 and 2 rear 4" mufflers for $99 each. The trick is to find someone who will install it for you, most exhaust shops I went to got annoyed at the fact I didn't want to pay for their gear and just install mine. Mettams will do it for you, they are brilliant, a lot of people on here im sure will vouch for them.

genie just did my exhaust for me and they were brilliant. very happy with the end product. only problem is they quoted me 1600 buck for a hi-flow cat and two cannons and another 1000 for pipe work and labour. i went onto the x-force site and got the cat and cannons for 600 bucks delivered to my door and then they installed it all and did the pipework and everything else. all up it came to 1600. i was bloody happy considering the closest quote was a bit over 2000. personally i buy everything off the net because 99% of the time it has been cheaper and then take it to a shop and just pay labour

Did you still pay $1000 for pipework ??? Cause im sorry Caleb, if you did you got shafted buddy. On my TT I installed a set of lews dumps and took my mufflers and cat to mettams and they installed it all with stainless steel and mandrel bends for $250. If you shop around you can save yourself a lot of money. Heres a complete break down of my exhaust and the costs

it was a 3' into 2.5' stainless with mandrels and i got dynoed in that price too and they had to make brackets for the cannons because they didn't come with them and a couple other things too. everywhere i went where quoting alot more than that for the same stainless system and i think i rang just about every exhaust shop in the yellow pages

plus i knew it wasn't gonna be cheap coz they have such a good name and guarentee that if you don't like it they change it. so considering they gave me the cheapest quote i think they were the best way i could have gone, plus i'm bloody happy with the system as it looks and sounds brilliant

theres an x-force 3" universal hi-flow cat on http://justjap.com/store/home.php?cat=275 which is what i got and there's some cannons and mufflers on http://justjap.com/store/home.php?cat=316. i used the x-force 2.5" inlet cannon and i am 100% happy with the looks and sound of them. thought i'd just give ya a couple more options

Yeh the TT brakes are adequate but for really good, confidence-inspiring brakes you should look at the Supra or Celsior 4-pots, they are so much better
The only catch with them is you need 17" wheels minimum and even then you still need to check they have enough clearance (many do not)
AS far as exhausts go, if you just want a nice V8 sound then a simple cat-back system will do, however if you also want to improve performance somewhat you will need to get a set of extractors(headers) and cats as well.
A cat-back system alone will not improve performance much
Bear in mind that there is a fair amount of labour involved in fitting headers, a lot more than the rest of the exhaust system

ABS will not be affected - the sensor is inside the hub and has nothing to do with the brake rotor or caliper that you would be replacing
If you do decide to go the Celsior/Supra route, it is a good idea to upgrade the rear brakes to the TT size (assuming you dont get the rear Celsior/Supra brakes)

Also get steel braided brakelines, they make a huge difference.
Im upgrading to D2 8 Piston fronts and 6 Piston rears, I was toying with the idea of putting the brakes on my V8 soarer but I still have stocko rims and would have to get some decent ones put on there...
Bare in mind dude, I change my mind daily so yeah, can't guarantee it.

haha so do i. yeh ive got a progressive upgrade idea in my mind now. bushes first, then exhaust then brakes. but if i find cheap brake parts then i might get those along the way. also, better to get oem supra kit or an aftermarket kit? i assume aftermarket is better, but more expensive?

haha.. OEM for sure, the D2 brakes i'm getting are the cheapest after market brake set I could find for the supra (keeping quality in mind too) and they are $3200 for the set.
If i was to sell my complete Supra 4/2 brake set I would be chasing close to $1300.
