any chance of heading west as far as Toowoomba? There are some good roads up the range that take you off the main range crossing. On a side note how many SC people from Toowoomba and surrounds?

not a bad idea, we have not headed west for a while. Ill be keen IF im not working and ill bring the new GT starlet for a run (hopefully there are some twisties so i dont get creamed by all you Soarer folk haha)

Yeah there are some really good winding switch back style roads on the way up flagstone creek road. That should keep your starlet in it's element for a little while. Anyone got an idea as to the date?

as for date... it will need to be organised with at least 3 wks notice i reckon (safe bet) Sunday June 14 perhaps? Ive organised them on sundays and saturdays and ive found sundays get more interest despite hangovers being a problem haha Mind you, its been a while since a nice NIGHT run has been done. *thinks of all the cold air and how happy my turbo and engine would be*

How about June 21st? As for winding roads well less about racing and more about taking a drive somewhere unusual

Stuart, I think I'll have to have a passenger to tell me about the scenery in the windy bits. Destination is good, but getting there is always better for me and I understand not all people want to show James the way to push through the twisty bits. If there is a predetermined place to meet then everyone can do the pace they want. You will certainly be made welcome in any case.

Well I was thinking picnic point because it's easy to find if anyone gets separated from the group and there is usually plenty of parking, especially if people are keen for a night run. As for the rout taken, well it would probably be more enjoyable no matter what your pace not to have to slog through all the trucks and caravans on the main range crossing.

The Sunshine Coast people feel it's a little too far to travel out to Toowoomba before even starting a cruise, so the suggestion is to bring it closer to an area say, above Caboolture and as far out as Esk and up to Noosa. Any suggestions? This is not designed to take away any ideas of a cruise out west, but to maybe add to. C'mon all you people that say you want cruises, get off your arse and organise one. It's pretty easy. All you need is a map, a meeting point, a time and a V8 Soarer (for the best fun).

That's an idea Mike, maybee the guys from out Toowoomba way could organise a cruise towards the coast, and the people from the coast head out west then we meet up somewhere half way for lunch. Is there any interest in that for an idea?Anyone with suggestions dont be shy speak up,i think we are all keen for a cruise.arn't we?

Well the idea of meeting up for lunch is an appealing one. I'm not sure but i reckon esk would be pretty central to most of us. Any other location ideas

hahaha WOOOO !! beers haha Yeh Esk is nice, plus its nice and close to some of those lovely mountains and twisty roads near by Im thinking Mt Glorious So perhaps one meet in Brissy, and one for the Gold Coast lads (so you can take the logan motorway) and then a big meet up on the freeway just before you turn off to head towards esk. Now just to organise a date so i can actually come along without getting stabbed by work.

I have gearbox issues at present so won't be able to make this one. however, I've been thinking of organising a run out to Dayboro as a colleague of mine owns a winery out that way; so was basically wondering if anybody was interested for starters and what people think of the roads out that way? was thinking maybe a cruise out there, lunch etc?

Thanks Carla! I wasn't really sure if it was something many people would be into, but hopefully the interest will grow enough for me to organise a cruise in the near future!I realise it's a bit further away than previous cruises have gone, but if the road out that way is good then....

No problems Chris, you organise it and we'll be there. I wish someone would set a date for this cruise out Esk way so we can sort things out and be sure to have that day free.Give everyone 2 or 3 weeks and 'hopefully' we'll get a good turn out.

Sunday the 21st June or Sunday 28th. How's that sound? Maybe the Sunshine Coast people could meet up first for a quick run to the meet up point. I only saying these dates are good because of my egocentric outlook and I can't make the weekend before. (I'm planning on having swine flu).
