Apollo bay sounds like fun, July sometime would be good. Will need abit of warning in advance though so I can plan my work roster around the cruise. |

You can copy/paste on iPhone but you have to jailbreak it first. (Where do you think Apple gets its ideas?)

i'll consider comming if my car is out of the shop by then, and the day isnt rainy and it's a cruise
last car forums i went to the gor with had the cops called on us several times, and im easily encouraged.... i just wanna cruise lol |

Ok everyone, I see most people are happy with Sunday the 5th of July!
I suggest we go early and return just before sunset as thats the whole point of the cruise to see the scenery in the daylight! Sunset starts at bout 5 these days, Iv never been Apollo bay so dont know how long it would take to get there, nor do i know what there is up there to do!
I need suggestions from people that have been there on how long it takes and if theres anything we can do while up there?
Then we can decide on a time and place to meet up! |

Take about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to get there from the Mornington Peninsula, depends on how you drive.
Nothing there to do except SURF!!! And the swells there are pretty over rated as well.
It'd be worth it for the Great Ocean Road cruise though, and some time of year they have carnivals up there. |

Hmmmmmm, thats one hell of a long drive, not to mention we have to drive back!
Given that it would be best to make it back before sunset, we would either have to leave bloody early or choose a different destination for the cruise, Im open to suggestions people!

You should drive up there and stay the night in one of the many caravan parks up there, then drive back the next day. There's pubs and stuff up there. |

The Geelong ring road is open now and at 100km/h, so that speeds things up considerably. Or you could take the Sorrento Ferry over, that might make it quicker.
Went for a drive down the GOR the other night in a friends old bmw, took us about 55 minutes from Geelong to get to Lorne. That said it was night. |
