Hey guys got the new 1998 Soarer yesterday anyway i want someone to go over the entire car and write up a list of stuff that needs fixing or any causes of concern for later down the track. If i had gotten the car complied in NSW i would have used Niall as he is a champ and knows Soarers like you wouldnt believe but yeah i dont know anyone like him in SA. So i need help with that as i want this car pretty much brand new before i start modifying.
Also as i know a few people in the sub forum i thought i might aswell let them know about the car.
The car is a GT-L pack, mint as interior (black) with the exterior black aswell (all factory) and is the main reason why i snapped it up. Exterior is very neat aswell, only will have to get the bonnet resprayed as its got a few stone chips in it. I just had to have it after only seeing 3 black on black 1998's in 7months of looking through Japan and Australia. Originally a few months back i lost out on the first one i found by $200, the second one i bought at the last second however didnt get import approval as it was a minor repair car so that was sold off and then the third one came up and i had to have it. Now for the mods it came with.
-TEIN HR coilovers, a lot softer than my other HRs due to softer springs/rates -JIC Magic twin exhausts -And now for the big one a TRD LSD -Some 17's stitch rims that i cant get off the car as the lug nuts are too close to the holes haha
Was quite stoked about the diff, would have been better though if it didnt pay so much for this stupid car as i could have bought one myself, so having paid so much i expect a trd diff haha. Was a bad day yesterday, though the engine had gone when i got it home (was a door to door delivery but ive been waiting so long for it i just picked it up from the depot). Leaving home about 10m down the road the intercooler/inlet manifold pipe came off and because its a stupid AFM and not a MAP it was coughing like a dying cat. Was myself and couldnt go more than 7km/hr at 1000rpm. Getting it back was a bit of an embarassing mission in itself, a lot of people down my street were staring at this quick looking car going 7km/hr with heaps of soot coming out the rear haha. So i fixed that and the only other gay thing thats happened is that the exhaust has a leak from a gasket around the front pip area. Ill be getting that fixed hopefully tomorrow as it sounds like a tractor off boost.
So yeah back to the original question i need a Soarer specialist mechanic to do a whole run through ASAP

Oh also need someone to do a quality detail job on the car if anyone can recommend me someone. I got all the best gear at home and could do it myself but yeah rather have someone else do it and if they stuff it up they have insurance for that. Has a few fie scratches from getting transported.

Paint depends on what you want to spend, if your on a budget but want something decent i would say All Types Crash Repair at Parafield. I think Doyles has dropped the ball 2 years ago, they were meant to do my car but never got back to me and for the money they charge thats just pitiful.

Anyone know who can cut and polish my paint, want as minimal cut to get the fine scratches out so needs to be someone who knows what they are doing otherwise ill do it myself but i cant be arsed spending 30+ hrs on the paint.

There's a spray painter called Fred who works out of 20 Paula Ave, Windsor Gardens. He quoted me $950 to do a complete respray (same colour) on my car. I've yet to get it done but he was recommended to me by a guy I work with who's had his car done there and is very happy with the result. His 'workshop' is a backyard operation but apparently he does good work. His number is 8261 8682

Finally first time ive felt the down low torque people have been talking about from the VVTi. Fixed the boost leaks from the piping coming loose and i must say for a standard car she booges pretty damn well. Noticeably quicker over a TT. Now just have to get the exhaust leak fixed on Monday and hopefully see Steve at Manta soon after.

Yeah ill probably see him when he gets back. Gonna get the exhaust leak fixed on the front pipe tomorrow and then redo the intercooler piping again as it popped off at the starts of a cruise today
