I spotted a siver soarer in frankston near JB HiFi today (sunday 24th) around 2pm, leaking fuel filling, i just fixed mine the other week. looked familiar, anyone here. |

Nah mate, Local Laws Officer for the City of Kingston. Haven't been a sparky for a few months now. I'll be a Police Officer as of February next year, just doing this in the mean time coz i'm SICK TO DEATH of wires. |

for the 2nd time ive seen a green v8 soarer on mt alexander rd in moonee ponds... has cannons on it and it sounds tuff as. saw it around 9pm tonight |

Spotted a green Soarer TRD 32! I assume this is a uzz32! He flashed his lights and I gave him the thumbs up. I was on Aberdeen st turning right onto Shannon ave. Car looked mint too! Had red calipers and awesome wheels!
I felt bad because my car was covered in dirt! Haha |

Yang, why you take the wing off?
I get harassed by the cops about mine but I keep saying its legal and they leave me alone but they don't like to loose the argument so it can take a while to convince them sometimes.
I even threatened one cop to take me to court but he knew he would loose so he finally gave in. |

Try the above in a country told to the local S/Sgt and see how much of wing you have left ... yeah in most cases you can call their bluff, just hope you don't loose traction when you pull away |

I've got away with it in 3 states now so I'll try it with any cop as it is legal and there is nothing they can do about it. If they want to take me to court then so be it. It's a day of no pay for them so its their waste of time. Gives me something to do that day so it's fine with me.
Just coz they don't like it doesn't make it illegal.
Same as neons under the car. 3 states and about 5 or 6 cops. No tickets, no fines. Nothing they can do but cry that my car looks better than theirs.
Oh, it also helps when you have proof in the car of the legality of these things. If they want to check it out then they can but its all legal. |

Rik - can you mail me some links to some of this legislation? I had to be skilled up on ADR and EPA for the Torana but no ides whats legal and whats not for rice.

I got the booklets from RACV and RACQ and from their websites the PDF for RWC and the legislation.
It says how big the wing can be and all sorts of stuff.
Another thing to look out for is things that arn't in it like neons. There is no laws about neons under the car, and inside you can have whatever you like. as long as you cant see the light bulb from outside its fine. Any colour, any amount. If you want it to strobe blue and red then so be it. They cant stop you. It might look like a cop car but its legal. In court they will throw it out as there is no law against it. |

total sick **** soarer on lonsdale street last night about 2am rego rsx or rsz cant remember. had a ninja with a samurai sword on one side and something else on the other side. halo globes too. big wing probably the same car i saw a couple weeks prior |

i would think that with strobing red and blue globes are illegal because it would make your car look like its a police car. not for having the globes themselves. |

Just browsing VSI #8 under Vehicle Standards Information on the Vicroads link, they could quite easily do you for the wing and neons under points 16 & 17. |

I called VicRoads and questioned the legalities of lights.
You can have any lights you want .... as long as they are not on while driving. If you have them under your car and ON then you are considered a distraction to other drivers and your car will be canaried. |

I've had my neons on at night for the last 6 years. I have them on blue, aqua, green or Purple and I've never had 1 fine. I had 1 try but never had any fines coz of the neons.
Even when they pull me over I keep them on. It's legal and they cant do a thing about it but whinge and be pricks. |
