Ok boys and girls of SOARER CENTRAL, here it is. PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS INFO BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS
Ive been considering organising a longer drive cruise for quite some time now and it just so happens ive also been interested in checking out the famous QUEEN MARY FALLS which is located just near Killarny. http://www.queenmaryfallscaravanpark.com.au/index.html
So my plan is to leave from my place in JINDALEE and head towards BOONAH where we can meet up with whoever is coming from the Gold Coast as it’s a nice central meeting point.
From BOONAH, I propose we take the Scenic Route through Boonah-Rathdowney road and up over some very steep mountains with some rather twisty roads. Onto Carney Ck road and towards Queen Mary Falls. ** NOTE – I have planned out the exact details of the route and will type them up to send out to people if need be, otherwise – just follow the leader. ** It should take us about 1 hour from Boonah to QMF. *check this link for details of the route* http://www.queenmaryfallscaravanpark.com.au/contact.html
I will be staying the night with Bec at the QMF Caravan Park in a cabin or camping, for those not wanting to have a HUGE day of driving I suggest you also book into the park and stay a night. *Depending on interest perhaps someone who is CAMPING should get in touch with the management of the park to see if they can put all us Soarer Folk together.
So here is the BASIC Breakdown of info.
WHAT – Soarer/Celsior/Aristo/Cressy Cruise and Camp @ Queen Mary Falls. WHEN – SATURDAY the 17th of OCTOBER 2009 HOW - MEET @ BOONAH at 11:00AM *BRISBANE and IPSWICH Crew – Meeting at YAMANTO *exact location TBC at 10:10 to depart at 10:20 for Boonah. * Gold Coast crew – Meeting at NERANG *Exact location TBC at 09:10 to depart at 09:10 for Boonah. ANYTHING ELSE – You are all responsible for your own booking arrangements, don’t be afraid to call up and book. MORE INFO - Guys this is a LONG drive so please make sure you vehicles are in good working order, have been serviced, that you have appropriate spares and have topped up all your fluids and tyres PRIOR to the 1st meet up.
I hope I get some interest with this one either for just the drive and even the camping for those who are keen.

I'm keen at this stage too, but would prefer a cabin....don't mind camping, but camping is only good if you stay for 4-5 nights at a location. I'm with you james, nice to have a roof over your head and some luxuries (bed, hot shower etc).

Sounds good James. and you reckon its a long drive?? pfft! making the trek to go on the cruise is a long drive for me! either way, all being well, count me in!!

James me and the fam will be interested mate, just depends on how much the difference will be with a Cabin and a camp site as to which way we will go, also what date the cruise will be.

UPDATE !!! : Ok the date has CHANGED and has been LOCKED IN for the Saturday 17th of OCTOBER
Guys the reason for this is because most are wanting to stay in cabins so i called up and that weekend has the most available.
** I have asked PEN to clean up and update this thread. I hope the date changes dont affect too many in a bad way. Just means we dont have to wait as long !
*** SOOO start calling up and booking whatever you guys want / need , also let them know you are with the "HARRIS GROUP" as it will be easier to track it all.

well for the 31st there was only 1 cabin remaining (once i put a hold on mine)
Same story for the 24th. BUT the on the 17th she had only sold ONE cabin (and now TWO as i have booked one) So there was more accom for the folk who dont appreciate tents and the like.

Too easy mate. Looks like its just a weekend away with the misso, i will enjoy the drive none the less and report back incase anyone else is deciding to hit up those roads or that place.

i'm afraid i'm going to have to pull out too james. since i got back from powercruise, i've got a rather elusive misfire upon cold starts. it comes and goes, and gives me an engine electrical system warning too without an error code.. sorry mate. just dont want to chance getting stuck down there!
