i have bought 0 parts! lol!

i just got a new job working night shift, so i sleep during the day its been hard to get stuff...

i need to write it all down..

first thing first is timing belt,and will buy a fan belt as well..

im not leaking water so i dunno what do with the water pump?..

i need to go through the thread on what to buy and where to buy it again :-) will do it friday morning :-):-) however payday is on tuesday and im looking to clear 1300 for the week so i should be good for a few parts and few cartons :-)

Dude, no rush, seriously. I'm pretty busy in my weeks leading up to christmas but I get a 10 day break during the christmas holidays and wouldn't mind sacrificing a day or 2 to help you get your car up to scratch, this give's you ample time to buy what you need and more if you so wish.

As for the water pump, change it. Just because it's not leaking doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with it and it's easy enough to do while the timing belt is off and isn't expensive. They usually fail without warning and the only warning signal you will get is the temp guage on your dash rising and unless your completely on the ball it is quite easy to miss until you hear *DING* and see the dash is displaying an error message. It's usually at this point you have little time to actually pull over and stop the car before you start doing major damage to the head and engine.

so ive had a read of the tute for replacing waterpump and timing belt on the v8, and everything seems pretty straight forward. the only problem i think i would encounter would be:
1.proper tools..all of mine are •••••• ones
2.harmonic balancer thing.
3. getting the belt on right as to not •••• the timing up.

what do you reckon about the tools thing..i want to get a decent set where should i be looking?

hey Ben i got a second hand pair of turbos, one of the compressor wheels may need changing(maybe use one of mine that im swapping over?) is that easy?
