I spotted a sweet Gold Soarer Vertex kit, chrome wheels, very tidy looking car, on Gympie Rd Strathpine this morning. Who ever has that one is a lucky man or woman.....very nice car  |

I was.. sitting around playing my phone till it cooled down. Its getting worse, but this time i think its because there is an air pocket circulating around the cooling system.
Either way i'll be working on that tonight and if its not sorted, you may spot me in my daihatsu charade which is running on 3cyl |

well Aiden sounds like you should do your water pump and timing belt or you could give the motor a good flush and put some toyota coolant in her trent just did my car yesterday |

Yeah the waterpump was replaced with a 2jz waterpump (i found after inspection last night). The system is fully flushed after spending 2.5hours flushing it out and putting new coolant through. I was using the stuff that lexus use, because its free when it comes from a mate who takes it home from the dealership . The timing belt does need doing, it just cracked over 100 000km's the other day.

Yeah the exhaust is a real drone, I actually think its those stupidly large tips which trumpet it worse than it should, but the money to play with that I'd rather spend on a few little other things right now..
I was thinking of opening the door and letting you in but you passed on the wrong side of me ;)
Also i'm not sure how we'd dock your scooter.. |

yeah thats what came to mind when i was passing there (to get to maccas).
I'm pretty geeky (i overclock my PC and modify my case) i think computers and cars are pretty interchangeable. Faster Car? More boost. Faster CPU, more FSB. Its getting too hot to boost it more? Install FMIC. Getting too hot to raise the FSB more? Install water cooling. Need better handling, install coilovers. Need more graphics FPS, upgrade video card. Having a track day? Adjust your suspension. Doing a benchmark? Overclock your videocard gpu and memory.
Its all about enjoying tinkering
I'm the same with my phone too, I've modified my samsung omnia to install a custom firmware with a much cooler and cleaner interface then the •••• they loaded it with. Runs faster and cooler, more applications and etc etc.

Also lew, you're in Goodna? I lived there for 12 months! If you ever saw a celsior (in below average condition) there that was my housemate's!
Haha, he also has a GT-four celica which has been off the road for years, it gets going for like a week and then something inevitably goes wrong. IE: finally after getting it registered and running, he took it for a drive to sydney and his girlfriend accidently didn't close the door properly, a truck convey passed him and the door got ripped open and smashed off.
Its supposed to be running about 24psi, and making a truckload of power, but its never running long enough to make it to a track day. He's spent thousands after thousands on it...
Not sure why i'm recounting that, but thats the kind of people you have there if you're still in goodna |

Mate i have only been here since december last year
BUT yer there are a heap of cars around here that look like crap but seem to go OK
I here a hell of a lot from my front deck towards camira way doing burn outs and drifting
I was thinking about starting my shop again but the wife put a hold on that for me .hehehe (right now any way)
so i am trying to go play with the big boys driving B-Doubles for a while
Just to get away from mechanical stuff for a little while.
Finding some B-double work is hard as well with limited experience but ya never know something will rock up sooner or later |

Yeah my time in goodna was a bit like that, lots of terrible cars.. mine only got broken in once
The celsior used to be okay, but a couple of dings since then (not actually his fault) have made it a little worse for wear.. That and he started a stupid project to move from NA LPG to turbo LPG, with cutting seating holes in the intake manifold to house some LPG injectors (so you don't have the LPG carburettor before the throttle body). Anyway he didn't quite get it all done and his money went back into the GT four..
Well good luck when you return to mechanics if/when you do, I'm sure it would be nice to take a break from it all for a while |
